Looking for a recommendation as far as dealer (doesn't matter location) to order a C8 from. I checked and MAS cannot order the vettes. I understand that it could take a while. That works for me as I won't be back in the states for a little over 1.5 years. I retired 3 years ago just waiting on the wife now. Is there someone you guys have had a great experience with and can recommend. Tell me who and why. Also not looking to pay over MSRP.

Look at any of the big three (3) dealers (based upon prior year sales). They are listed in this forum. All are at MSRP. I personally used MacMulkin and I found them to be one of the BEST buying experiences in my life, and I have been buying cars for over 45 years. It is a good thing that you have the time because deposit to delivery runs 8-12 months (a little longer or shorter depending upon unforeseen shutdowns).
Place a deposit(s) with whom you find you're most comfortable with, the deposit should be refundable up to EC2000 (when GM actually accepts your order). Again, I went with MacMulkin (call Jeffrey Thompson, Jr. or Shane Malone) as my choice and had a very pleasurable buying experience with deposit to delivery in less than 9 months.
You should have no problem ordering about 8 months before you come home and stick with one of the big 3 and you won't get ripped off at the last minute like I did from Van Chevrolet.

I don't understand how Van Chevrolet stays in business, they screwed over a good friend on mine that lives in Fountain Hills, Az. They're apparently the car dealer equivalent to Corvette Mods (the biggest ripoff artists ever), they screw everyone they deal with and people still give them more business. Talk about rewarding bad behavior...

FWIW, I have bought 3 Vettes from Kerbeck. They are the largest Vette seller and have been for many years- for a reason. Great folks. They sponsor the C7 Forum and can click on the top of any C7 General page and get their info by clicking their Logo.
My last two, a 2017 Grand Sport and my C8 were made like all by Vette purchases, "Just for me in Bowling Green with exactly what I want." Then shipped directly from Bowling Green to a dealer 30 miles from my home.
Since you don't want the C8 for a while I'd suggest putting a refundable deposit down for a 2022 and then IF it gets close to being ordered and you want delivery delayed have them to put you back on "their order list!" They don't mess around, the order they receive a small refundable deposit is the order the order cars when their allocation allows. (It's the highest allocation of ant Distributor.) Model Year 2022 will probably have demand higher then GMs (or their suppliers) ability to supply. So if order slips to 2023 you'll be high on that list and control when you get it. Just a thought.
MacMulkin sells at MSRP, is one of the "Big 3", (actually one of the Big 2) and a forum sponsor.
MacMulkin does NOT HAVE ADDITIONAL DEALER FEES.
My C8 is coming from MacMulkin.
Good luck

You may not know this, but MacMulkin does have additional documentation fees, but they are credited against the MSRP. I only mention this because some buyers think dealerships should not charge these fees when, in fact, all dealerships have them.
^^^
I see that comment as if it's a big deal. To set the record straight! First Kerbeck is up front about fees- READ clause below in contract. Note, they have and "Estimated Fee Charge" for those they pay to NJ and in my case SC. It says clearly the dealer will refund any overcharge. IN MY CASE, IN THE END, I PAID ~$200. For what my car cost that was ~0.2% or 1/5th of a percent!
When I bought my 2017 Grand Sport from Kerbeck I got a ~15% discount and it was delivered from Bowling Green to my Courtesy Delivery Dealer- no one was close. Yep for the C8 I paid $~200 to deal with the largest Vette dealer who has been for many years -FOR A GOOD REASON- Great folks!
BTW, don't know how they did it nor did my Courtesy Delivery Dealer who is 30 miles away in SC. They do Courtesy Delivery for the largest company in that town and said: 1) they were surprised they had no paperwork to complete for SC, 2) don't understand how they got me the SC Ownership Certificate AND my SC License Plate mailed to me! Kerbeck sent a temporary NJ plate good for 30 days. BUT I had to get my SC Plate. With the pandemic can't even call the state. And visiting even our local SCDMV requires and appointment. Having nothing to do with the C8 made one on the net to turn in my old license plate. SC charges a daily fine when you sell a car (as I did my 2017 Grand Sport >a month before I got my C8) if the license plate is not returned in 10 days. . Yep Kerbeck are great folks and handled all paperwork. I'm sure some others are fine but as I said they are #1 for a reason!
I tried getting my C8 from KERBECK, (as they are closer to me, N.Y.to N.J., than MacMulkin, Mass/NH border) in September 2019 and they were no longer taking orders.
MacMulkin WAS taking orders and made it simple and explained it all in an email. Took delivery in person at MacMulkin in October 2020 and best experience buying any vehicle ever.

I've purchased from all three !
They're ALL excellent, but MacMulkin is the GOLD STANDARD !!
I only post when I see folks promoting #2 as if #1 isn’t great.YEP Always bought from Hertz regardless of #2’s ads!
I’ll keep posting when I see what is obviously biased posts! Folks are free to buy from who they wish, I’ll stick with #1 !

Talk about bias !!
My comment IS BASED ON ACTUAL TRANSACTIONS WITH ALL THREE !!
That certainly makes it relevant !!!
You should have noted the fact that I said ALL THREE are excellent, but MacMulkin rises above !
Unless you have ACTUAL purchase comparisons of all three, your remarks are irrelevant.
JMHO
Have a pleasant day !!
MackMulkin. MSRP and more importantly, no BS dealer fees like "documentation fee".
Again, MM has BS dealer fees like everyone else, they just use an accounting trick to hide them. Some dealers have doc fees of $300, others up to $900 of more. That is a range of ~ $600. If MM's fee is $300 they subtract the $300 from MSRP so it looks like you are not paying a doc fee, but in reality you are. Maybe it would be better to say that their doc fee is -$300 which then makes the doc fee range from -$300 to $900. Not really a big difference when considering a $60 - $90K purchase.
