Default Recommendations for buying C8

Thanks for all the advice everyone.
I want the Museum delivery experience for this one.
I have witnessed this before and want to be the proud "Papa" seeing his baby for the first time.
I will be contacting one of the big three dealerships to start the process.
We are very rural, and I mean VERY rural! Population of the township where I live is less than 4500! Some great driving roads though, including the Mother Road, Rote 66, just 2.8 miles away!
There are several dealerships in larger towns a short drive from me that I am sure would be more than happy to take this order, but the fact that they probably aren't as familiar with the car, the options, and the process makes this choice much simpler.
Now I just need to decide whether to trade in my 2008 JSB Z06. Maybe my wife will just trade in her '89 fully restored C4...🥸
Again, THANKS to all, and happy motoring.

I can only recommend based on personal experience. MacMulkin Chevrolet. I've bought three corvettes from them. 4th will be the C8 when my allocation comes up later this year. I have a C8 Stingray deposit and a C8 Z06 deposit with them. You will pay MSRP and that's it. Great people to deal with. I've heard other dealers are good like Kerbeck and Crisswell, but I don't have personal experience with them.

Whups forgot Rick Hendrick of Duluth, GA. I have a deposit on a C8 with them as well. Corvette sales manager Chris Lindamood is a great guy to deal with (a total car guy). MSRP as well plus a $699 document fee.

MacMulkin for me. Excellent communications and experience with them on two purchases.
You pay exactly what the MSRP is. DOC fee does not increase the price and there is no pressure to purchase anything that does not come on the car from the factory.

Stick with the big three and not some small town dealer as they will lie to you and when it comes time to pay for the car they will hit you with added fee's for stuff you would never buy like Van Chevrolet did to me and told me, "don't like it then find a dealer to sell you the car."

The communication you get from MacMulkin through this forum, along with their order tracking webpages, keeps you informed and increases the enjoyment of the ordering process. NO other dealership can match that!

There are some small town dealers out there that will sell a C8 at MSRP. That was my experience. Maybe I got lucky.

Not all smaller dealerships are dishonest. Just get your deal in writing.

Too many stories about deals in writing being worth less than toilet paper.
Go with the dealers known for the allocations they get, and for their transparency.
In my case, I'm ordering from MacMulkin.
Good luck

There are several excellent dealerships, all mentioned above ,who won't fleece you and can make arrangements for shipping to you or even contact a local dealer for a courtesy delivery. But no matter who you decide to go with, be prepared to wait. Between a strike, Covid-19 and supplier problems GM is way behind and almost everyone I know that has a C8 on order has waited at least 10 months to over a year. I'm one of them and still waiting.

A few posters on this forum complain about some individual dealer and soon everyone is parroting that all dealers outside of the 'Big Three" are crooks. Enough already. Do your homework by calling around and asking direct questions and you might find a right size dealer for the right price. I found Ross Downing in Hammond where my salesman Charlie put me on his list, called me back for a $2000 deposit when I went to 1100, and 4 months later I drove away with only a $200 doc fee. I have read where others have called around asking if the dealer had any unanswered for allocations coming up and got a car in less time than that.

100% BS. Like everything on internet reviews, read between the lines. The big 3 are great from what I have read here, but as one that purchased from a local "small" dealership on a handshake, the experience was and post delivery service is A+.

I don't think the above is the case. There are plenty of smaller dealers who are quite good too, but there is less consensus on who they are. The point is the big 3 forum dealers, who collectively sell 3-4K Corvettes a year, are consistently excellent, and virtually everyone has the same great experience at all 3.

With so many customers here who have had experience with one or more of the big 3, it's obvious why you hear much more about them, and much less about any given smaller dealer.

The other point is one doesn't have to do any "homework" by choosing to go with any of them, and they all sell at the same price.

I thought the same until I walked into the dealer to pay for my car and they hit me with 3k worth of crap and the need to finance at least 50% of the car through their bank. I am not the only person who they did this to as there are at least 5 on here that contacted me before their car came in. If you were to buy it from Van Chevrolet you would not be singing the same tune. I guess the positive this is that I got my car about 5 months quicker than from the big three and it only cost me about $3500 more. But the next time I will wait and not put through the crap Van Chevrolet put me through.

Not surprised about Van in Phoenix.

I found Davis Moore in Wichita to be terrific. No BS and/or lead anyone on.

BIg Al, the sales lead there - been around for decades, great reputation. Think is one of the largest dealerships in Midwest. Never any surprises.

I bought a C6Z from Van in 2008 and it was an easy purchase and no scamming, thought this was going to be as pleasurable and boy was I mistaken. They were sold a few years back and that is when they became scumbags. It appears to be the way their group Vtaig (Berkshire Hathaway Automotive)operates as a few months later I was debating about a GT500 or a GT4 and contacted the local Camelback Ford dealer and they played from the same script. Went with Gaudin Porsche in Las Vegas and they were great, even got 4% off the sticker on the GT4 and the sales guy came down with the shipper to deliver and go over the car in my driveway. I would have bought the GT4 at Scottsdale Porsche but they did not have a car and all order slots were filled until June 2021.

The only thing Van Chevy has been good for for me was the Courtesy Delivery on my 2007 C6 they did after I custom prdered from a Forum dealer.
