Default Programming extra Key FOB

Has anyone programmed an extra Key FOB. According to the book it can be done but I'm not having any luck. And what does "the vehicle must be in run" mean exactly, that car has to be running on in accessary mode. Thanks for any help. Hey, figured it out and got key programmed.. Don't know how to delete thread. lol

Post what you learned would be the preferred way. To delete the thread PM forum moderator. Again if there is something you learned, consider sharing your knowledge - someone else may need it someday.

Agree. Post what you learned. I wanted the carbon flash FOB programmed as mine. When we picked up car, the salesman accidentally programmed my wife for the carbon flash key FOB.

Easy to fix right? No.

After going through the manual and several texts and phone calls with dealership, reprogramming never worked. It was only looking like the process was for ADDITIONAL key FOBs. I was told I would have to take it in to a Chevy dealership service department to get them swapped. Wasn’t worth it.

Please tell others what you learned. I wish to program a third fob I purchased as an extra to hide. Yes, the manual is confusing.

I successfully programmed my third fob. Followed the manual. Yes, start with the car “on”, as in running. Then follow the steps. It happened so fast, I thought I did something wrong, but after a few seconds it asked for fob #4, so I pressed the lock button, and wallah, it worked.
