Yes, I used Onstar in an emergency. My wife and I were traveling back to California with our new C6 after museum delivery. On the way to Auburn, Indiana to visit the Duesenburg Museum, I fell at a rest stop about 1 and 1/2 hours South of Fort Wayne and cut my elbow badly. Bottom line, Onstar guided my wife turn by turn through country roads until we were at a new hospital among the corn fields. One doctor present on a Sunday morning, x-ray taken, read, and had a small bone chip, but needsd mutliple stitches. Onstar saved our day and we were back on the road to Auburn by Noon. From there, headed to Chicago to start our Route 66 trip back to Santa Monica, CA. So, to this day, I have Onstar now on my C7 for the just in case scenario.
