Default Delivery Time

How long does it typically take for a C8 to go from rolling off the line to the customer?

Is there a method to the madness? I’ve seen some that made it to places like Ohio in less than a week, but I’ve also seen some that took 3 weeks for the same journey.

How does it work?

It can vary. I’m in SW Ohio and my dealer says 5-10 days after production for the cars they have received, which I believe is about 30/yr.

if you are with a huge dealer it could be faster, even if farther away from Bowling Green, since they may have more trucks headed that way.

I ordered a 2015 C7 back in August 2014 from a local dealership. I picked the car up at the dealership on September 29th, 2014.

Yes, there is a method to the madness. First BGA needs to release your car for shipping (code 4000). Supposedly Jack Cooper then has 10 days to get it loaded on a transport. When that happens will depend on how many C8s are headed to your dealer (or at least to a cluster of dealers nearby). The big 3 dealers get full loads shipping frequently and therefore tent to have shorter delivery times. If you are at an isolated small dealer, it could take days to get a load headed in the general direction and then it will have to make multiple stops along the way. If you're in the western half of the US when they start shipping by rail again, delivery times are severely impacted by rail shipping.

Can a C8 be shipped on the same truck with other models when headed to your dealership or dealerships in your area or are C8's only shipped on a truck with C8's? So do they have to wait until they have a truck of C8's to your area or if your C8 is produced and ready to ship and there is a truck going to your area can they ship it on a truck to your dealer with other models?

They only ship C8's from the Bowling Green Assembly plant. No other models. A single truck load may have each C8 going to a different dealer along the route. Or, they could all be going to a single dealer like MacMulkin or Kerbeck.

I’m currently at 10 days since being built.
It shipped out of BG after 6 days and I assume it has made it to MacMulkin now.
Hope to hear something soon.

So my best guess is 3-4 weeks after build.

Does bayed, 4B00, mean that the car is released to Jack Cooper, and it is waiting in that ten day period? I'm assuming they are waiting to get ten cars on the carrier to a logistical route??

that’s a good question. I am sitting at 14 days since being built. Getting antsy. Still at 4000. Dealer said they been invoice and the car is bayed ready to ship. That was 13 days ago. My dealer is small ( I am the only 2021 allocation) and I am in Wyoming. I am afraid that it could be a couple more weeks or so. The thing I hate the most is that my car is a 3lt and it kills me to have the leather dash cooked in the 90plus bowling green sun for god knows how long. Looks like they wrap the cars well enough but the front windshields are not 😡
