Went to drive my 2020 C8 and a couple miles down the road and suddenly car starts missing out bad, display dash suddenly reads "Reduced Speed Drive With Caution", followed by "Check Traction Control". Got it back home at 35mph. like it was in limp mode. Anyone else seen this happen, only has 1000 miles on the car and was a late 2020 build date.
Can't really do a good diagnosis on the forum, but sounds like a broken valve spring. In any case, call your dealer and ask if they will tow it in and determine the problem.
I agree with above. 20 there was a valve spring issue. Mine busted a spring at 63 miles, severe vibration, traction lights, engine light. Thankfully it happened in my garage, and i shut it down immediately. Had the dealer flat bed the car in. They replaced all 16 valve springs, new part number for the spring. Mine was built in Sept 2020, valve spring had snapped but not fallen. Thermal issue, the springs had not been heat treated properly.
Turn ignition on, DO NOT START , punch up the OnStar, they can run a quick diagnostic code check, and email it to you for reference and record
Since the springs were replaced, the car has performed flawlessly. Zero issue after
I can't tell you if that is what you have, but the spring issue though limited, remains a known issue of the period. Your motor was built some months before the car. I would not take the chance of the valve dropping and trashing the motor. Call the dealer, have it flatbed in for service.
