It won't help getting it any sooner but you will be able to access the Onstar mobile app and track exactly where you car is! If you can get your dealer to turn it on then contact Onstar and they will help you with finding your car!
@Morton1 if you or anyone else can give me specific instructions to pass on to my dealer, that would be great. He only knows that someone has to actually get in the car and press the OnStar button. Is there a workaround I missed somewhere on this forum?
My TPW should be Today !! #14604 Who knows how many days to get released and shipped to Southern Ca.
Today should be my C8’s bday!!! VIN 14673. Also going to SoCal. Maybe we’ll be in the same truck or maybe even the same dealer (courtesy to Paradise Chevy in Ventura)
Does anyone know "How and When" you're notified the status of your car after build day?

Realistically, if you read through this and other similar threads, you'll see the answer is "you're not." Or, at best, "haphazardly." My dealer called me today (day 14 post-build) to tell me he has no idea when my car will be released for shipping, shipped, or delivered to his dealership.
On the other hand, while he was invoiced on 1/26, the day after it was built, when I brought up paying him for the car (in context of whether to finance or pay cash depending on rates available) he was not pushing for payment. He said rates fluctuate, let's see what they are when you're car's ready for you to take. So Salmon57 is right, many but not every dealer insists on getting paid the second they are invoiced by GM.
They have shut down turning on ONSTAR until you take possession of the vehicle according to a contact I have in the plant. Seems some body thought it was a good idea to have ONSTAR remote start his Vette in the vehicle shipping lot. This is a reliable source but don't ask me to name the individual.
Mine was built yesterday (Mon, 2-7) and I received the email from MacMulkin this morning, asking how I was going to pay for the vehicle so we can finalize the paperwork.
