I had read that ordering was opening on July 1. Can anyone confirm this? I am #1 at my dealer for a 2022 but haven't heard anything yet. Anybody heard from their dealer on 2022 ordering? I like to be armed with info before I call and bug them.
Just wondering....which Dealership. I am #5 in line at Reaume in Lasalle.
Any expectation on delivery date?
Waiting is always the tough part...exciting too.
From what i've read, dealers can enter workbench orders, and the order will get an 1100 status. But there is not complete pricing yet, and most importantly, there have been no allocations or dates for those allocations announced yet. So, the answer to your question is technically "yes", but the details mean it's probably more of a time saving tool for the dealer to be ready for whenever allocation day comes around. For a big dealer like MM or Kerbeck/Ciocca, I'm sure this is a wonderful thing, as I imagine it would take a while to put in 100+ orders, and make sure they are all correct, and best not to do it under a time crunch.
As it stands right now, ordering has not opened yet as pricing is not in the system.
Even though prices are not yet in the system, can you enter an order on the workbench and get a particular car to event code 1100? I ask because if I was managing 100+ June allocation orphans, I would probably enter their original build on the new work bench, just to save time later. I could then contact each affected customer once I had allocation numbers to check for changes on their orders. I would bet that most changes at this point would be minimal, and as someone already stated, your staff would be under less of a time crunch. Just a suggestion, not telling you how to do your business. You already do that better than anyone else....
Went to the dealer where I purchased my 19C7. Manager said about 58 customers ahead of me and I was looking at 23 or 24 based on there past allocations. Would not take a deposit, just my name and phone number and said would call me some time in future. I telephoned another local dealer that is in top 50 dealerships in allocations and sales just jerked me around told me lies, as I have done my research, also would not sell at MSRP…So I emailed MacMulkins and they were very responsive to all questions, gave solid info based on what I have researched and basically said if I got on there list it was highly probable I would get a 22 within 10-12 months or sooner if supply issues get worked out. I felt confident in sales and info and sent them my deposit. I have my C7 so not in a big hurry. Only time will tell. Fingers crossed.
If I ever get mine - I’ll embrace the rarity and demand. Until then I just shake my head amazed at this whole process. At 3300, five months after placing my initial order at a very small market dealer and it seems like 2-forevers. Can’t even relate to the guys that have been waiting >12 months.

@jon5014ren Sounds similar to what I experienced, and I, too, sent my deposit to MacMulkin (May 19th 2021 now #699 on the 2022 list).
May I ask when you sent your deposit?
The "10 - 12 month" time frame is what interests me.
Thank you

Yesterday, July 2. Again 10-12 months is a guesstimate. All the stars have to align. I was just happy to get on a real list. I will keep my 19 C7 for awhile to see how the market is doing. If supply issues get worked out in next 6 months, then will sell C7 and wait for my 22 or 23. I guess it is good that I am not an impulsive buyer. Good luck, it feels like Vegas.
MacMulkin just told me today that they have orders in the low 1000’s for 2022. They also said they typically get 80-160 allocations a month. A “guess” estimate was 8-12 months for delivery. Going to put my C7 up for sale in a few weeks and put down the deposit for a C8. Sales at MSRP and a $2,000 deposit gets you on the list.

MacMulkin is SUCH a great dealer. You did well by going with them...

Low 1000’s????
WOW — looks like the bubble is not bursting anytime soon. I sold my C7 a couple months back. Now looking like I was a bit early in doing so as prices remain crazy high. But who knew?
I’d bet we’ll see allocations and orders resume within 10 days. Gotta start laying out the ‘22 production plans soon
In the last two weeks I talked with four Chevy dealerships that I have good relationships with. One very small, one medium, one large and one mega dealership. They all told me the identical thing, that on average each week they sign up more people to their C8 internal buy lists than they deliver new C8’s to.
We are soon entering year three and this phenomenon of demand exceeding supply continues.
Yeah that’s the only reason I am selling my C7. I love it but I can get what I paid for it 5 years ago from KBB alone. I’m gonna list it here first since it has some extras KBB doesn’t care about and an enthusiast does. I’d rather give someone a good deal on a solid car than sell it to KBB who will mark it up 20%.
