So I tell the wife we can't get any more items at Costco as she has 5 jackets, 2 pair of shoes and a couple of camp chairs in the trunk. She had to get a couple more things regardless of what I said. Got it all crammed in including some nice prime sirloin. Heading home and take off from the light making a sharp left turn at a good pace when all of a sudden the bells start ringing and the car won't go or so I thought. Once I got under 26 mph the tranny engaged and I realized rather quickly that the frunk had unlatched. So I figure I must have somehow hit the key fob while doing the hard left. Pulled over and shut the frunk. It was still partially latched. Got back on the road and come to another light where I'm going to take another hard left turn onto the interstate 81 on ramp. Light turns green and I go again when I get another dose of frunk bells and whistles. I ended up leading a train of vehicles behind me while I puttered along the on ramp until I could get along the side of the route 81 bridge that the on ramp led to. Got over the bridge to a safe area and pulled over. Closed the frunk again while pondering the event. Took off again thinking that it only happened on a hard left turn and suddenly realized that something might be hitting the child safety button or whatever it may be called inside of the frunk. Took it easy the rest of the way and opened the darn thing when I got home. Low and behold with perfect placement, the package of prime sirloin was right against the button and when I took the hard lefts, the package had enough mass to push the button causing the release. I pushed it to check the pressure needed and it was miniscule. Wow! All I can say is I was relieved on one hand and pissed at myself on the other, but I will make sure in the future that I protect that button. It does what it was supposed to, but to all of you who don't even think about that thing as I did not, here is your reminder. LOL! In closing, it was a nasty thing once I crawled onto the bridge from the on ramp and a jeep passes me yelling, "Drive that blanking vette!". Of course he did not say, "blanking".

Somebody sells a cover for the button to prevent that from happening. I remember seeing it here in the forum sometime back. It plugs inserts into the power outlet.

I'd like to know what that is and where to get it if anyone has the info.
You made me think a little about a conversation I had. My wife said to me a couple of weeks ago, "Just think how many girls you could pick up in that car if you were younger." I said, " I'm thinking about how many I can pick up now." She didn't see the humor in it.

my son just got a 3D printer which took me a full day to build. Does anyone have a frunk cap design/plan they can share so I can have him build me one? Thanks

The girls of today don't care about cars at all. Most don't even know the model of what most cars are, and are more preoccupied with shopping for luxury bags, shoes, and posting selfies on social media.
Interesting that it actually cuts throttle until the car slows down. Some of us were wondering what would happen if the button got pressed at higher speeds.
