Default 2lt Trim

Hate to bug you all but I am looking for a couple of pictures that show the 2lt trim. I've seen and sat in the the 3lt but I am looking to compare specifically the difference in the:
  • Custom Leather-Wrapped Interior
  • Suede-Wrapped Upper Interior Trim
  • Leather-Wrapped Lower Doors
Would like to see what I'd give up by going 2lt vs. 3lt. I plan to do the GT2 seats regardless but looking at the above three items/areas. Plus is the headliner any different (HTC) on the two trim levels? Thanks so much, Tom

I don't believe the headliner is different on the HTC between trim levels. The 3LT, which I have, certainly does not have the design etched into it like the coupe.
I have the suede like material on the A-pillars, but none elsewhere. A big deciding factor for me was the ability to get additional color choices. I ended up with yellow stitching on jet black with yellow belts.

Headliner is the same.
I went with 2LT and GT2 seats as I didn't see the worth.
Like Ragtop said though if you want a color offered with the 3LT then it's a different story.

My Natural Dipped 3LT HTC has sueded microfiber pillars, headliner, visors, etc. (pretty much everything above the doors). My understanding is the 1LT/2LT has fabric (or vinyl?) in these areas. The 3LT HTC doesn't have headliner stitching but the 3LT coupe does (unless you get the transparent roof).

It will be hard to tell the difference between the 2LT/3LT vinyl/leather surfaces in pictures. You should do a comparison in person.

The fact it is hard to tell difference in pictures should make you wonder if it is really worth the cost?
For me, I checked every box for every option that "increases function" of the vehicle vs form/aesthetics. 3LT is just jazzing up the aesthetics. Difference between 1LT and 2LT is huge though. No rear view camera for driving?
With the money I would have spent to also check the 3LT box, I will buy a new set of custom wheels and tires. You could also buy swisstrax for your garage, etc.

3lt was definitely not worth the cost to me. At first I wanted it for the yellow stitching option but that's a hell of alot of money to pay just for some stitching lol

Thank you all for the information. More and more leaning towards 2lt. Need to find one in person! However they sure aren't just around any corner!! Will check out some car shows in the future. Thanks again.

Don’t forget the 3LT gets a stitched leather airbag cover…

While the 2LT gets a plastic airbag cover…

Mine is a 2LT HTC with two-tone red/black GT2 seats with suede inserts.

Exactly this for me too. At first I wanted yellow stitching but no way I was going to pay $5k to get it; nothing else in the 3LT package had value to me so I opted for 2LT this time around.

My buddy who just got his car and let me drive it got the GT2 seats because he wanted the 2 tone interior. Those seats are no question a bit harder and tighter than the standard GT1 seats, but they're still awesome. However he also got the suede steering wheel which I'm glad I didn't order. Too sticky for me. Just saying!

I wanted the Gt2 seats and a full color interior on my 2020 that is why I got 3LT Planning on ordering a 2022 this week and will go with the 3LT because I want the GT2 seats . The cost factor is no much more for 3LT once you get the GT2 seats

While I agree that 2LT is the sweet spot, here's an interesting data point from 2021 options chosen. Perhaps because HTC builds were optioned out to the max vs. value proposition, I chose the 2LT trim in my HTC with GT2 seats.
HTC owners
2LT: 40%
3LT:52%

All the HTC 3lt's I've been seeing on YouTube seem to have the different color leather options that are only available in 3lt. I think most people really just get the 3lt for those specific colors that aren't available I'm any other trim

Was in a car show yesterday with my 2020 3lt. The only other C8 was a 2021 with the 2lt. The owner came over and looked at my interior and said he wished he had gone for the 3lt. I learned my lesson in 2007 when I ordered the car with the cheaper interior. I can't even remember what it was called back then. I had that car for less then a year and ever since then I order the most expensive interior. Try to go with the 3LT if you can.

For many it boils down to the expensive cost of the 3LT and knowing you're not going to recoup much at all of the extra cost when selling the car.

This was a factor for me too. The airbag cover is something you look at all the time in the car. IIRC, it was around $600 to buy a new 3LT cover from GM because it included the airbag.

Are you comparing those GT2 to GT1s that you have? This is definitely a concern for me, of it being a bit harder and tighter, since I'm considering the 3LT but don't want to sacrifice any comfort of having a GT2 seat if it's less comfortable for daily driving. I would much rather have less firm and looser seats.
