Default Plant tours question?

Anyone know if and when they will open plant tours again? I missed the "Marriage" of my 2007 and want to watch this one if possible ?? Thanks

At the BASH there was discussion with Kai about this, and the tours are at the bottom of their list of things to do right now. They have remodeled the tour area, though, and look forward to having everyone again, but it will be some time before that happens. There are still so many Covid related protocols to be followed at the plant, they want to keep things running as much as they can, and having visitors through there every hour isn't really something they want to take a chance on.

Also with the Z06 Mules, CTF cars & E-Vette's on the line now, & ZR-1 & Zora's in the future, I can't imagine them restarting Plant Tours anytime soon.

Yeah, none of us would want to see a shut down due to Covid being brought in by a visitor. I'd just as soon wait another year.

New models have always been run through the factory. Normally, they just block out some dates to build these pre-production builds. The factory being closed is definitely attributable to COIVD-19 concerns.

That's encouraging, thank you.

when I did the museum a couple weeks ago, the guy prepping a delivery car (unfortunitly not mine) told me it would at least be after Jan 1. He said that is all they are telling the workers at this time.

Don’t forget, when they took the factory tour away they promised 4 free laps in their cars instead of the tour. They have now changed it to a reduced price for the laps. As it is, I’m now paying $995.00 for a museum tour and a PDI. I hope I get my R8C done before they
take away the Museum tour or charge for it.

Wasn't there a free chit for a factory at some future time for those who ordered option R8C? Or was that taken away or didn't happen?

Was just down there a couple of weeks ago and no tours were available. No word was given on just when the tours would be resumed.

just my opinion, but GM is missing out on a big marketing opportunity as the tours were pretty popular.

It will be more for a 2022. Rick Conti has a new video showing 2022 prices, which includes ~$200 increase in delivery in addition to car increases.

Don’t quote the number as Rick went though a lot quickly. I recall the lift option went up several hundred to like $2100 or $2200.

SIDEBAR
For an unusual reason I got a private tour with our VP Direct Sales. I had a ‘93 Vette at the time and when it was time to start the car coming off the line, I picked myself! Worth seeing WHEN open.

I emailed Shane about the photo book for 2022 and he said GM hasn't said when that will resume
