Splash Guards for C8
Frankly with the weak Canadian $ their prices are high. My experience with my two C7s and C8 is: side skirts stop all rocks from dinging rocker panels. The rear GM Splash Guards stop all rocks there. IF GM offered for my E-Ray that is what I would buy. Buy the front moslty to match the rear look! But so far nothing from GM for the wide body C8 Z06 OR E-Ray. ACS says they are working on them but so far nothing.
In our rural most roads have no shoulders what there is are pebbles and dirt. It gets pulled up on the asphalt. Dings the rocker panels. My 1st two Vettes, a 1988 and 1993 were prefect when I sold them except for the dings mostly behind the rear wheels. I was determined to do a better job on my C6. Some did not like these contoured splash guards painted body color. BUT form follows function and rears worked perfectly. The fronts were fine up to the front of the rear wheel wells.
For my 2014C7 Z51 GM offered optional splash guards AND had clear plastic protection from the center of the door up to the front of the rear wheel wells. They knew where the problem was! Plastic we dinged within a few moths- looked poor. Installed aftermarket full length side skirts and dings stopped.
Removed the GM Plastic. Car looked perfect when I sold it!
For my 2017 Grand Sport ordered the GM Stage 2 Option ($4000) to get full length (not the standard 2/3 length.) It had some GM Plastic, guess for the 2/3 length skirts. Removed it. Car looked prefect when I sold it!
Same with my C8, aftermarket 5VM copies. looked perfect when I sold it 3 months ago.
I'm not a fan of what I refer to as "Saran Wrap!" BUT may not have a choice other than use a small amount on my E-Ray.
