Default Wings

There are many options for wings ranging from the Z51 to a high wing spoiler. But I haven't seen anything that is fully automatic adjustable like the ones on some Porsche and Bugatti. I know most of it is purely cosmetics as a lot of us having those high wings on the cars never take advantage of the down force and they are just more weight. But from a cosmetic point of view / cool factor - does anyone know if there are vendors out there building such cool wings? Something that would go up when you are at a certain speed and retract at lower speeds? I think this would increase the cool factor of the new C8 several notches. And talking about those wings Lambo doors....

Vertical doors are available for the C8 and there are several threads in the forum with them. As far as the other $2M cars referenced, no the sub-100k C8 doesn't have active aero and no one with any sense is looking at making a wing like that for this car. There is talk (just rumor) about it being possible on higher end Corvettes like the Zora, if it becomes a reality.

You could check out victorracing.com. He makes active aero aftermarket spoilers and also makes specific spoilers for the c8.

There was speculation they would be on the C8 BUT expect it will be the Zora where the ~$150,000 price could justify the extra expense.

Digitally "controlled" wings are silly expensive and but gimmicks on the street. There's a reason they are not available for Vettes. Compare prices of the cars you noted with C8 "official" retail. As for Lambo doors... have you ever used them for any amount of time? I've a buddy who has always had 12-cyl Lambos as long as I've known him (has 3 at the moment). I find the doors a real PITA to actually use. But, if it's mainly to make others gawk and on a garage queen, anyway... enjoy!

They're standard on the base 911s, Taycans, and I think Panamera GTS and above. I don't think this is something any vendor would provide, requires too much structure and engineering. C8's model is too constrained by having the large trunk. Would like to see some wing options, especially high wing style but w/o 4 posts which imo look weird.

Thanks for all feedback. The whole C8-thing is a silly thing, starting with price and people paying huge amounts of money for upgrades and/or even own one. My point was more a general question and see if this even existed. People want to make their car unique, and this is just another giszmo in that direction. For me - my car is a road queen if that makes sense. If possible and weather permitting - no snow, but anything else goes - I would do 10K miles a year if possible. I have a picture of a Ferrari on my garage - this is my 'garage queen'... Cheers!

Wings on street cars look like youngsters with their modified Japanese cars.

Exactly why I didn't spec one on my car. Don't want the attention. Ditto decals or stripes.

Nice - if you have a dedicated racer. A bit pricy for just something to look good. IMHO

According to the Corvette team, the High Wing and the Z51 wing create the same downforce.

No reason to have one "Unique" wise from aftermarket. 99.99999% of the public would never know it's Active AERO unless you tell them. Lot of money to spend on something you have to "Brag About" to people.....LOL

Most people just want to sit in One.
Even with aftermarket Carbon Fiber 5VM, and High Wing, it's the overall look of the C8 that they like. The C8's Design vs prior Gens is what average Joe & Jane 'Like most, but it's the Kids whose Eyes really light up when they see one, boys and Girls. .
The C8 has an unbelievable attraction to Women & Girls of all ages too, something I'm only used to with with a Custom Bodied C2, changed from a MALE body to a Female.

A C8 Convertible is another Step Up Looks wise to the Coupe. Rare around here. Only seen one, an only once a Cruise-in that draws a huge crowd of cars and Lookers. Big crowd around it!

My below car, Women like. Notice it's shaped like a woman's body, Vs Stock Male Body look. Get a lot of foot traffic from them...LOL But at this time it can not compete with C8....LOL

By the way, there is nothing 'Silly" about people liking the C8*'s look.
There is a GOOD reason it's so sought after, or there would be discounted one, sitting on Dealer lots at deep discounted price(s) like prior gens.
People like the Unique look of it, Vs "Same Old re-do make over look of past 4 Gens.
When will that change, based on number of people on 'Lists" waiting to order one, GM really doesn't need to release "Variant Models" at this time. They have their on "Long Wait List" too....LOL.
