In the future somebody will likely invent a simulator, fitting inside an EV, that can replicate the human experience of any vehicle ever built, down to feeling every bump, rumble, rattle, roar, g-forces (or lack thereof).
Including the control experience.
Simulating the exhaust sound too.

Different software for every vehicle ever made, as far back as you want to go.

Today's technology is capable of doing this, the challenge will be to make it feel authentic.

If they pulled it off successfully you will be able to instantly switch vehicles to compare your experiences.

It would be unlikely that such a simulator could create the extended over 1 G forces of a race car or high performance car. Extended g forces over 1 G require spinning. Cars can swiftly change from left turns to right turns, spinning simulators really can't do that above 1 G.

The simulator is inside an EV that will pull off the G's. You're in a fully functional vehicle, and the simulator adds those pleasant rattle-can sounds of yesteryear. Even the clattering sound of an old car door slamming shut.
And motion transducers will vibrate your chair and your steering wheel, etc.

Yes I know this is the base model for all the key board warriors, so feel free to save it. Just giving my thoughts one month in.

I miss the tougher character as well, but sometimes appreciate what it is. I've had HTC Z51 since June and I do miss feeling like I'm driving something bonkers at all speeds/ driving conditions. I had that feeling with older corvettes, '17 Z06, Vipers, Falcon F7's but the C8 is so refined and quiet around town at normal speeds there's something missing from simple A to B drives. Step on it hard roaring through some twisty roads and things change very quickly, but that's a fraction of the time. That being said a quick scan of the interior and it's design, the quality, the look-back factor when parked, etc. is top notch and put's a smile on my face every time. There's plenty to appreciate so I don't think I'll be getting rid of this car any time soon. I do love it.

Sorry, I missed that, but no thank you. I can see EV for transportation, but I don’t see them for driving enjoyment. It is like the difference between having sex with a real woman, and a sophisticated android. Both would get you from A to B, and the maybe the Android would get you there faster, but the experience would not be the same. I think I will stick a real woman, too.

The thing probably is too refined. I am perhaps feeling a bit wistful in that it is EXACTLY what I want at this point. A sophisticated, comfortable, rocket-ship. Being coddled by a certified ***-kicker of a car, with the power source behind me and less Vette in front of me, is just too perfect.

I just sold my 2019 Z06 and am anxiously waiting for the arrival (in September) for my 2LT C8.

This has been an interesting thread. I had a '67 427 Coupe and it was a beast (for it's time). I now have a C6 Z06 which is better in every way than the Big Block C2 I had. More reliable, better performance--accelerating, stopping, and handling, and way better gas mileage to boot!

So I'll be getting a C8 Z51 HTC and wondering IF I'll miss the 6-speed, the raw power of the LS7 etc. Somehow, I think I'll be happier with the C8's better interior, acceleration and overall refinement. Ask me in about three months...I'll be picking the C8 up at the NCM next month.

For the fortunate.....

The C8 is a perfect balance between wild and tame.

The C8 is a perfect balance between refined and raw.

The DCT in the C8 is a perfect replacement for a manual.

The amount of horsepower and quickness in the C8 is beyond expectation, given what you had to pay for the car.

There’s nothing wild about the C8 driving experience, it leaves hard but that’s about it. The car is quiet rides real smooth and shifts itself lol Has traction control and abs so intrusive the car will NOT smoke the tires. I like the C8 but cmon wild ? Not even kinda

In the Performance Management subsystem you can run with traction control and stability control turned completely off (when in Sport or Track mode).

I guess it really dependends on one's point of reference. If using the following extremes:
1999 Viper- Wild
2021 Lexus ES - Tame

Then the C8 fits right between the 2 perfectly.

It’s so refined the transmission cases are sometimes porous and leak……. Time will not be kind to these early C8 Corvettes think 1984 1985 Corvettes

coming from a quarter of a million miles in several c5 and c6 s...its not the speed or quickness its the total lack of NVH as well as such a quiet interior especially with the roof on.

GM did such a great job on the vehicle...its ffabulous yet if GM asked me how to improve the c8 stingray Id have to say pipe some engine roar into the cabin in sport mode...

the engineers did such a great job isolating the accessory drive noise with the 9 mm glass etc...you dont get the same roar inside the cabin as in orevious front engine corvettes.

the vehicle handles so well it never feels as though its on the edge..

these believe it or not are compliments yet there was something to be said balancing a high powered front engine corvette on the edge..

the roar of the engine in the cabin etc.

personally I think corvette engineered the stingray especially to be an excellent road GT car and will bring out the hordcore race like driving experience in the c8 Z06....

the dichotomy was specifically designed into the c8 stingray to showcase the difference between the c8 stungray and the upcoming Z06...

the on the road acceleration most will use on the street wont be that much different to 60 mph etc so it will be purchased more so on how the new z06 makes drivers “feel”

So I finally got my HTC and drove it for 3 days over 4 states. “Too refined” is not what I would remotely use to describe it. Maybe y’all came from driving a Model T with 800 hp or something, but the C8 isn’t a Cadlliac.
It looks gorgeous, interior blows the doors off any exotic I’ve seen, exhaust sounds much better than I expected, but wind and tire noise is on par with most other sports cars I’ve driven. Seats are firm and supportive in curves, but get a bit uncomfortable over a few hundred miles. I can feel every pebble in the road with the suspension and steering even in tour mode when I don’t want to,
Y’all had me expecting some Cadillac cabin with numb steering and suspension, but that was way off base.

There’s literally a section in the owners manual explaining how to smoke tires.

Shifting itself is optional as is the traction control nannies.

It “rides smooth” as in new car smooth, not Lexus smooth. If you’re coming from a banged up C6 suspension that’s seen better days, yes it would be smooth compared to that.

SERIOUSLY... in what world do you live in where... the speed limit is over 75 mph, roads are not clogged by texting teenagers and soccer moms, and jackass full size pick up drivers who drive like maniacs because "theyre late for everything... because they never had the brains to learn to tell time.

You know what a douche all those Hellcat owners look like whenever they blast off from a light or parking lot with exhaust blaring and tires smoking... do you you want people to think the same of you... and your car.. cause they DO!!! no one but a douche thinks thats cool...

0-60 in three seconds... that's not enough?

we all need to settle down and get a grip on whats reasonable
