Don’t most dealers focus first on the vehicles where the owner is waiting, and push the vehicles that got dropped off to later in the day? I thought that’s how it worked.
What irks me is when I wait for days just to get their first available morning appointment and then they take 6 hours just to change my oil. Lol, maybe walk-ins do better.
My local non-100 dealership, uses an integrated text messaging system as part of their maintenance software that keeps customers informed of their car's status at all times - check in, technician pulled into bay, xxxx performed, service complete, if charges - pay via phone or in person, car is ready for pickup. Extremely impressive. Btw, for all service, not just Corvettes.
I've stayed and waited for xx (not my C8) that turned out to be a longer task than originally expected so I was provided a ride and pickup at N/C. Btw, 30 miles each way. I'm a big fan of developing relationships with your local dealership for many reasons - this is just one.

I found out that the "appointment" is to see the service writer only. It has nothing to do with when the tech starts the work.
