Well, I was going to go with a wild red/black combo stripes but chickened out. Decided to go with something subtle, talked with Mike at vettestripes and we went with Oracle 970 RA “gloss silver gray metallic” on my CMG coupe. Took me about 8 hours but I’m very happy with how it turned out. Removing the letters and reinstalling them was a pain in the butt. Overall I would say if you have patience and read all the tip docs and watch the install videos you’ll probably be ok, the Oracle 970RA vinyl is top notch and cost is very reasonable. Make sure everything is CLEAN!
I have a black C8 scheduled for production in two weeks. I went back and forth with ordering either red or silver stripes on it. The red is very flashy and the silver is more subtle yet classy looking. I decided to go with silver stripes and silver wheels. I’m thinking I made the right decision and can’t wait to see it.
Seriously, though, stripes are such a great way to customize since you can reverse or try something else later. I wouldn't remove yours, though, they look great!
Nice. I like the subtleness. I've been contemplating a set for the ELB but more on the wild side. I do have a couple questions:
Did you consider the vinyls that have the cutouts for the emblems/letters?
Did the roof come in one piece or multi piece?
Thanks!

1. I considered it but decided I would save the cost and remove/replace the letters myself. The images of the cutouts around the letters look good too.

2. Roof is in like 5 sections back to the camera
Sorry, two more questions:
Did you do the premask?
Did you have to do any cutting or did everything just fit?

Car looks great!!

1. No, I actually think premask would be more difficult. If you don’t select it they provide the center “gap” stripe, take your time and lay this down the center of the car first. Then using the wet method just butt the pieces up against the center stripe.
2. Minor trimming when I was rolling over a couple of the roof pieces due to the gasket seals (use a new razor blade). The instructions actually tell you how much to overhang on both sides on each piece. I had reservations because I know if you jack up one piece it’s (potentially) over. This kit was excellent in my book.
