Default Stingray Structure

The 2020 brochure says "The Stingray structure is actually 54% stiffer than a Ferrari 458 Spider and 29% stiffer than a McLaren MP4-12C". For 2021 it says "The Stingray structure is 30% to 50% stiffer than some well-respected competitors". I wonder who said what to whom to cause the change in wording?

Maybe because it's not a good look to brag about how your 2021 car is so much better than cars that went out of production in 2014 (12C) and 2015 (F458).

It'd be interested to know how those numbers stack up against an F8 and a 765LT.

Good point. I suspect that very early after the decision was made to go ahead with the mid engine configuration they benchmarked the soon-to-be-replaced 458, thus using it in their initial marketing since they had the data. You'd want to be darn sure you had your ducks in a row before you started naming names and quoting precise numbers. I'd be amazed if the F8 hasn't bested the C8's numbers but I doubt we'll see Ferrari quoting them in their product literature.

Usually attorneys speaking to each other when previously mentioned names are omitted.

The only thing that really matters is that the C8 structure is really, really stiff. Stiff enough you can jack up one whole side of the car from either the front or rear jacking point. Stiff enough to lift one wheel off the ground going up a driveway ramp. Start at 1:30
