Default MacMulkin wait time

Hi,
Newbie here looking for some help. I have been researching the forums trying to educate myself. I am in the situation where I am not in a rush to get a vehicle. I would like to get the car in the spring of 2023 (not a Z06). I live in the Seattle area and from the posts I've seen the dealers here are marking up C8s way above MSRP. So I've settled on purchasing from a big dealer with MacMulkin's name coming up the most frequently.

Based on the current deposit to vehicle delivery times, can anyone advise me when to order the vehicle through them? Right now is 18 months away from my desired delivery timeframe. Not looking for a crystal ball or anything as lots of variables can come into play, but I just wanted a rough estimate on if I should be trying to send in a deposit now or wait 6 months/12months etc.

Thanks!

I was #692 in December 20 and got allocation in April and delivery in August. Wait list is much higher now. You can keep deferring with MM if you're number is up. I was very happy with MM. My advice is get on their list asap.

Send in your deposit now and if it is too early when your number comes up, you can defer your order.

If you hopped on the list right now I would say you are looking at 12 to 14 months.

FWIW - we were at MM 3 weeks ago and put our deposit on a C8 - we were told we are #1318 on the deposit list and should see our car in 8 - 12 months.

I should have mentioned this in my original post - last Sunday I got a call from one of the salesmen from MM - they had 3 new C8's available for immediate sale. Unfortunately none of them were what I wanted. I should of asked how they became available but didn't think of it - I would guess for some reason the original buyers backed out of the purchase. He did ask me what I was looking for and my price range if any came up in the future.

Just for reference, I had placed my deposit at MM on 9/24/2020. I was 618 at that time. Now, the wait list has grown to almost 1350 new people at almost the same point a year later. The demand for this car seems to be growing big time based on this. I waited 9 months from deposit to delivery. Hopefully, BGA can produce enough cars to keep the wait time to at least a year.

I’m thinking holiday season 2022 —model year 2023. Would be very surprised if earlier than that.

Since nobody has mentioned this if you aren't going to take a Museum delivery you need to ask MacMulkin if they are doing courtesy dealer deliveries to a dealer near you. They are in the process of hand picking dealers who they will work with on courtesy deliveries and they will not tell you which dealer it is until you order your car. Hopefully they will tell you before you make a deposit if they will have a dealer near you they are going to work with if you plan to take a courtesy delivery.

I agree with everyone here that you'll wait at least a year.

I contacted MacMulkin about a month or so ago and was told 8-12 months for delivery. Things may have changed since then so best to just contact a salesperson at the dealership and see what they say.

If I was you I would put in my deposit sooner than later. You can always skip a month or more when it’s getting close. MM will work with you

If i were you, I'd put in a deposit asap. Personally my deposit went down on April 29th of this year. I'm getting an allocation next month and was told by MM I'll be getting an email to submit my build this month. Have nothing but good things to say about them.

Who did you talk with at MM to get this info. I had my deposit in 4-21-21. Should I be expecting a call too?

Thanks everyone for the tips. I put my deposit down this past week. I am number 1370 on the list. So I bet I will likely be deferring for a few months so as not to take a winter delivery.

My deposit was on 3/6/21, I'm now #45, I was contacted, submitted my build and should be allocated in the next phase. Plan on a possible November call.

There are many things that could happen. I believe 8 months would be the earliest. The way things are going I could see it going 12-14 months.

Do not pay markup by any dealer...I am waiting for mine too..I ordered feb.2021-----order sent to GM ON 9/22---I am at event 3300 with build day of oct.11,2021 but i am getting a 2022 and the price went up $2500...I am also getting a convertable and that takes a little longer....Now my dealer is a small fish, 4-6 allocations a month. What i am seeing is it will take 9-11 months to get it...The best link I have seen that really explains everything is https://www.corvettemuseum.org/demys...build-process/ Over a hour long ....Did you know that after it comes off the line 8,500 quality tests are done Do not get depressed. Watch the video. and DO NOT PAY ABOVE CHEVY BUILD......The journey is part of the fun...........good luck sanford
