Default Grill Guard Mesh

I will be picking up my car next Wednesday at the Museum and having them install that ugly NovaStretch bra for the 500+ mile ride home. Hope that will protect the front end until I get some grill guards installed.
My question to anyone who has installed them, do I need both the outer & inner guards? What determines what I need? Non-Z51 car if that makes a difference.

There is some condenser exposure from the inner inlets but not much. Functionally, you'd probably be fine with just the outers. But people like to do the inners to make them match. My understanding is the brake inlet area for the non-Z51 cars is blocked off.

There is quite an angle from the inner openings to the condensers, which takes a direct hit out of the equation. I did blast a bird with the inner opening and had to remove the belly pan to remove him (at least what was left).
