Default 3800 permahold

I've been stuck at 3800, (Vehicle Produced) for going on 13 days. I know this can happen, but does anyone know how rare it is? I see most folks moving to 4000 in what appears to be a day or two. There are folks who's cars were built after ours and have had them shipped, PDI'd and delivered already. Ours isn't even available to ship yet. I have to assume its a quality issue since I can't get anyone to tell me what's going on. Everything about this ordering process sucks.

Yep, been there - done that. My car was built 08/04 and did not ship until 08/24 and sat at 3800 the whole time until it magically shipped and went to 500 in a day. Never found out what the issue was, but the car has been flawless so far. That last 4 weeks until we picked it up was tortuous!

If 22 year model they have to pass a WA check before 22 can ship that’s how it’s supposed to work

Curious what is a WA check , how long does it last and how many of the early production units are subjected to the check ???

basically it’s an audit of x number of vehicles before they sign off to allow shipping to begin if no major problems are found. It happens at every plant not just corvette.

Do you have any idea if the x number is the first 100 --,500 or 1000 units ??

I don’t know the number set aside for audit but if it’s a carry over in other words not a new car it’s usually a formality but they still do it. At 78 my memory isn’t what it use to be.

Will they hold all of the new 2022's until this "batch" has been tested?

^^^^ Re above post holding every '22. Not trying to be funny, but my guess is not unless it's something very serious like 20 cars tested and every one had the front wheels falling off. Or, something in the engine not functioning in 10 out of 20.

That use to be procedure no shipping till they sigh off on Quality inspection. But times have changed and production has suffered

maybe waiting for truck load going to your area they don’t like to ship one or two not cost effective and yours may ship with 2022 models for full load same is true if going by rail

My 21 C8 sat behind BGA plant for 21 days before shipping from late April into May this year.

Have you order something unusual on your car that could be the problem.

No, nothing unusual. It isn't just waiting for a truck either, because it hasn't reached 4000 yet.

Could be a quality issue I have seen bad fenders make it onto car that need to be replaced bad mold ie not enough material in an area not seen easily but once painted it’s to thin in a place. Or paint to thin on a panel or paint run

Back in 15 our C7 sat in the rail yard for almost 2 months while our dealer received other orders that were placed and produced after ours. Even the dealer couldn't find out why. Eventually they cancelled the order and reordered for us a 2016 with more upgrades and sold it to us at the same price. We figured that there must have been some kind of accident with it at the rail yard while waiting to load.
Maybe yours is just on a hold to fill a truck to your area hopefully.
