Does the C8 windshield provide any protection against the Sun and heat? I’m considering adding PRIME XR PLUS window tint with 70% VLT, meaning the least dark shade of tint, so glass will still look almost clear, hopefully not noticeable. Would you consider it?
Tint info: PRIME XR PLUS: 98% infrared heat rejection multi-layer nanoparticle technology, nano-ceramic particle technology for heat rejection, UV ray protection and great clarity.
All modern car windshields are tinted, which offers some protection against sun and heat.
I got an 80% ceramic tint on mine, and I can't say I'd do it again. The main reason was that it's supposed to cut down on reflections, so I thought it might reduce the reflections of the light colored dash trim. Comparing the reflections to a friend's C8 without the film, I don't really see much difference. Polarized sunglasses do much more.
I feel any reduction in heat is minimal, at best, and the coating interacts in weird ways with polarized sunglasses. Get a windshield sunshade for when you park.
I had Llumar Air90 ceramic on my C7 and did Llumar Air80 ceramic on my C8 (and both of our current Jeeps). Is it necessary? No...but it sure is nice here in the TX sun & heat! I use the same "clear" ceramic film on the SUV factory tinted rear glass (and sunroofs).
The Llumar Air-series is no darker, but does add a very slight blueish tint. I've never had any issues with nighttime visibility on numerous vehicles with it. Passengers don't notice it and sometimes still don't realize it's there even after I tell them.

I am planning to do the same thing since I've read that the heat can affect the dash glue on the 3LT.
Cleaning the inside of the windshield is one of the things I do not enjoy when detailing a car. I have bought fancy microfober pads with a handle and have tried many things to get it streak free. The best solution I have found is to use wadded up black and white newspaper. Sounds goofy but I had a person show me that trick at a car show 40 years ago and it works great. I don't think you would dare do that on a tinted windshield.
I’ve used llumar airblue 80 on several cars with great results. Measurable heat rejection, very slight reduction in glare. I have used darker in the past and would not recommend it primarily to minimize exposure from legal action should the car be involved in a wreck.
50% on all my vehicles windshield. Best thing ever. Has no difference at night looking out or with heads up. From the outside you can see a persons silhouette but not so much any details.

That's exactly what I had installed on my car. I was told it's makes a noticeable difference. I can't tell much on the heat rejection but I'm sure it adds a level of UV blockage but not possible to see this with your eyes.

In Ca and AZ having the front windshield tinted is illegal.
Same with most states, or allowed with a medical waiver. In my state, I can with a waiver, but it's light. 70% VLT only. Most of what you see is MUCH darker.
I'd see this as a major liability in case of an accident. YMMV.
Some of you have mentioned a concern with having front windshield tinted and probable liability in case of an accident, is that concern valid if tint darkness is only 70% VLT, valid for any type of windshield tint? It's starting to concern me too. FYI - I've scheduled to have it done so I can still back out. Thanks.
