im in the same boat. I first inquired at my local dealer on 7/26. They had no list no allocations so I put a deposit with ciocca. On 7/31 the small dealership called and said they just got 1 allocation and it had to be ordered immediately. Went to 2000 following Monday then 3300 until I got my TPW of 9/20 a couple weeks ago. Got my VIN this past Tuesday.
I suspect you meant your dealer had an allocation that allowed your specific order specs to be submitted to BGA in August. With production at the plant running smoothly of late, your timeline is normal. What's not normal is length of time people are on waiting lists for an allocation matched to their spot on the list at MSRP. Dealers marking them up substantially generally don't have long waiting lists.
When did you place your reservation deposit with your dealer?

there was no reservation deposit. They have no running list, no deposit, and at MSRP
Same for me, MSRP, I had waited since March to try and order then the no more sold orders came along, my buddy did get an oder in in March and took delivery in August just after I ordered mine also at MSRP, were in Bakersfield California.
I have a similar situation with my small town dealer, funny how everyone does not believe that there are good small town dealers who will sell at MSRP, I got mine in writing. We have also bought 12 brand new vehicles from them dating back to 1997. I keep getting the "Good luck with that" from guys too. They are a very respected dealership. I also sell obsolete parts for them, so my relationship is very good. Small town so we all grew up together. I went and talked to the salesman in May and they did not think they would get an allocation, I told them I would like to be on their list. (0 deposit) Got a call on Sept 7th asking me to come in and enter my build. Put my $5k down and a few days later got a text stating I was at 3000, now just waiting for my TPW.

I think what you have experienced so far is the new normal.
My C8 was ordered July 29th and it was built last week. It is now waiting to be shipped any day now. I should have it before the weekend. That's less than two months from order to my dealers lot.
I have 2 ordered wishing to get one. One at a small low Corvette volume dealer, who sent message yesterday it was built and gave me a vin number. Order was placed 7/30 went right to 2000. 2nd car is at a larger volume dealer at 1100 and not much movement. Ordered 2 weeks before the other car.
Yep my small dealer pulled through too. I was on a list at a bigger dealer….projected 1st qtr build. My small dealer who I’ve dealt with called and offered me a spot. I dragged my feet a little to research color but am at 3000 as of a few weeks back. Msrp, no deposit no paperwork. Just a long standing relationship.
No deposit either. Beware… yesterday I chatted with Chevrolet.com at the advice of someone on forum thought it was a good idea told me showed tpw 9/20. Dealer sent message yesterday afternoon saying built and gave me a vin. Trust your dealer better info.
That is indeed great news! My local dealer will sell at MSRP, but has a list of close to 50 buyers. It will be great once supply catches up to demand.
My local dealer so far is selling at MSRP. He has 100 on his Stingray wait list (2022's sold out) and is telling any new buyers to his list it will be a 2023. Looks like demand will continue to be strong for at least several more years. Every Z06 that will be made will also delay a Stringray and the z06 will help keep the Stingray wait list long.
