Just speculating here, but if DaveO is 5772 and I’m 6094, we’re talking at least 322 vehicles with wheel issues???
I don't think so. I have heard that there was a batch of wheels that showed up damaged/scratched. Not sure exactly how many that is. Since there are so many different types of wheels they all aren't installed in the order at which they were received by the vendor. Hope this makes sense.
Got a call from Amoni this afternoon that my car was invoiced! Based on the codes, 4150 (invoiced) comes after 4000 (ready for shipping), so does that mean my car might make the long trek across the street to the museum this week???
12/3 would be my preferred museum pick up date, so I hope that is doable. Hopefully 2nd time works better than my first attempt!
I guess I’ll find out on Monday. Oh man, please please please!

For what it is worth, mine was built on 11/2 and invoiced on 11/4 at which time the dealer had me pay for the car. However, my car is still on quality hold.
This is BS. Corvette was completed Nov 5. Status as of today, 4D00. (16 days) Nov 18, Dealer requested payment, and proof of insurance, contract signed, which I compiled with. I am currently still sitting at Bowling Green with no information as to WHY or WHEN the corvette will be released, just speculation on this forum as to WHY. The 3 year/36k miles is now in effect and ticking away. Try and have a dealership go past the warranty date for a repair and see what they tell you. And yet the assembly plant is producing large numbers of completed cuvettes. The corvette concierge is useless. NCM currently advises status 4D00. Next step contact Mr. Kai Spande plant manager?
Yeah, I understand these are different times, guess I should pass that information on to the dealership and tell them I am not going to pay for something until I have physical control. See what there answer would be.
Hope my corvette gets released before my clothes go out of style.
Darn, that stinks. Was hoping it meant I was in the clear, but I guess not. Will reach out to a Lori tomorrow to see if there’s an update.

Agree. My beef is with GM, not MM who I purchased the car through. GM should never invoice a car, send the certificate of origin to the dealer unless the car can in fact be released. At this point in time, I own the car. It's paid for and it's registered in my name, not GM's. Come Thursday I will have owned the car for 3 weeks. Yet they are holding it hostage on quality hold. If in fact the issue is scratched/blemished wheels, send me the damn car as is and send me replacement wheels when you get them. Waiting 9 months for the car to be built was a walk in the park. The past 3 weeks have been agony waiting for my car to be released. Again, at this point in time the car belongs to me.

You should start leaning heavily on your dealer for information. I get that they’re kind of stuck in the middle here, but just like GM, they shouldn’t have invoiced you before they could confirm that the car was ready for delivery. GM doesn’t get to claim confidentiality when you are the actual owner of the car.
I’m also selfishly suggesting this as you are probably the only one of us that has any ability to extract information out of GM right now due to the ownership issue.

FIRST I hear they update Monday late and Wednesday as well.
Keep in mind this ia all about a disasterous modified JIT process, that should be a Demand Flow process which deals with variation.
Also, management doesn't care about us since there bonuses are tied to production (booked sale) and our cars have been produced.
The nonsense of slowing the plant for a few hundred cars is hilarious, only one to two days production. They shut down second shift for two weeks but they can't start up a quick turnaround group on the second shift to fix this disaster. Oh yes it is the supplier, what BS. It's a bad production system that caused this mess.

Yes, I plan to talk with MM tomorrow.
For what it is worth, it is normal practice to have the customer pay for those of us not picking up from the dealer we purchased it from once the car is invoiced from GM. 95% of the time it probably isn't an issue and the dealer is just doing what is normally done. My beef is GM should not invoice the dealer if they know there is an issue with a car. Not only did they invoice the dealer, but also sent them the certificate of origin. This should not have been done either.

Here's a good one for you. The 2022 production spreadsheet was just updated a little bit ago. Nearly 2000 (yes, 2000) cars have been built since mine yet mine is still sitting at BG somewhere in QC jail. Very frustrating to say the least.

Well maybe I’m in a better situation I live 4 1/2 hours from the dealer and am going to trailer my Stingray home myself hopefully in the next week or so. My point is if I were any distance from the dealer I wouldn’t pay and insure till I could physically see the vehicle. It was previously mentioned your warranty is ticking but what if something happens on the truck , coming off the truck or while being prepared for delivery it’s your problem to solve .My salesman made it sound so refreshing when you get to the dealer I’ll give you your keys it’s all yours 1 2 3. That’s one way to avoid any involvement once the car is invoiced. I realize it’s a hardship but paying $100K for something before I see it is not in my book. I hope everyone that has and will be following the dealers wishes has the Grace of God with them.

It's great that you live that close to your dealer. I would have preferred this route but there aren't any dealers in Northern CA that can get me one at MSRP in a year or less. As such, I went with MacMulkin which is on the other coast, so pick up is a little more difficult.
As an FYI, anyone doing a courtesy delivery, Museum delivery or being shipped from the dealer (which is what I am doing) all pay up front usually once the car is invoiced from GM. It's standard practice and has been this way for a long time. I bought my first Corvette this way from MacMulkin back in 2006 and I was very nervous paying up front. But they are a top notch dealer and if anything was wrong I was confident they would make it right. This time around I am using Intercity to haul my car from MacMulkin to CA. They have a stellar reputation and are fully insured should something happen.
@RandelB Received an email from Lori at NCM this am.. My status is now 4B00 as of this morning. 11/22. This is confusing because the dealer invoiced me for the car this past Friday. I have to overnight the money tomorrow, but I'm hesitant seeing how some are experiencing extreme delays. So I may hold til l know my car is in transit.
@RandelB looks like you have a few people with dates in the future for 6000 status (myself included). Not sure the reason, but wanted to give you a heads up so you can look at it. .
