Default Question about Event Code 4B00

My C8 is currently at Event Code 4B00 (bayed). I know that in most cases, it is waiting to be loaded on a carrier with other cars going to the same general geographic area. In my case, the car is going to central South Carolina, which is certainly more "remote" than a large metropolitan area, like Miami. I figure that is why after a week, my C8 is still sitting behind the plant at 4B00. My question is, if your car is going someplace remote, is there a time limit that contractually the car can sit behind the plant at BG, before the shipper MUST transport, even if the car is shipped all by itself on the back of a truck? I mean, I can see a situation where the area a car is destined to, is so remote (e.g., rural North Dakota)? that if the shipper is waiting to ship, so he can load other cars going to dealers near that location, the car is question could spend a year siting behind the plant, waiting for transport....

I believe it means is is being put through additional testing or perhaps repairs for a problem that was found.

I believe the code you are referring to is "4D00" (Vehicle on hold)

I read somewhere that the transport company has a 10-day window in the contract, but I have absolutely zero proof to back it up. With that said, my car sat for exactly 2 weeks before climbing aboard a truck and going to a small town Pennsylvania (arrived to the dealership the next day, 2nd car off the truck based on pictures & following OnStar GPS tracking).

Mine went 4B00, and was still delivered to Florida the next week. Wasn't even a perceptible delay.

Our C8 was at 4B00 for 3 weeks. It only had 2 miles showing on the odometer when it finally arrived. My guess is they wait until they can fill a truck with cars going in the same general direction. My dealer was a semi small town location.

I've also had previous Vettes which had 4B00 for 2 days then shipped...... go figure !

I live in rural ND my car was built 6/21 and went thru the 4000 - 4B00 status eventually shipped from BGA 7/10.
Able to track transporter with OnStar MyChevrolet app there were set offs in WI, MN and (4) dealers in ND. Mine arrived at Courtesy Dealership on 7/14 delivered 7/20 (poor customer service ) cause.
Bottom line it takes patience your car will be delivered!

I found out this morning that mine was shipped yesterday and on its way to the dealership. I will give updates when I know it has arrived. It was built Monday and shipped on Thursday.

After the car is released to the trucking company, they have 10 days to load the car. I read this on this forum or the other forum months ago.

4B00 is bayed waiting for transit. That means it has been released for shipping and the only delay will be by the trucking company.
Mine went to that status a couple days after production and my car was at my dealers one week after it was built.
