Default Do 2022 models require strut tower covers?

Hi all, In prep for the delivery of my 22 model I am purchasing parts ahead of time. My question is do the 22 models need strut tower covers? I thought I had read that GM fixed the issue with some type of drain tube but cannot find the article and would like confirmation so I'm not wasting money on something that's not needed. Thanks in advance for any info.

I designed and produced the strut covers to deal with an issue I, a lot of other owners, were dealing with. These covers were not developed as a get rich quick snake oil as others may imply! If you want to keep the water out of your strut towers I will gladly sell you a pair, hell I even give away sets for forum members! If you get your car and don’t feel they are necessary then save some money and buy something else for the car.

There is a thread for a giveaway ending on 10/11/21 if you want to enter for a free set. We offer police and military discounts, and of course we are 100% made in the USA!

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out

Yeah, I've seen dealers who say they washed the car and it was bone dry, too.

Yup, it is the 1st thing I purchased before taking delivery, Very inexpensive and looking at all the pictures AND videos posted with water standing I will address the issue head on, Maybe for some odd reason some won't get water in it, but the majority will.

For me, I thought it was dry at first, but it was the pockets I couldn’t see well that had water in them. I had to use my fingers to tell,

It’s a short term car for me, if it is for you too don’t sweat the small stuff. Think ahead 5 years, if you don’t see yourself with this car why worry? Is there a z or eray in your future?

My C8 was built the end of January of this year. I have checked the strut towers on several occasions following a wash and they were dry. I should point out that I use a Master Blaster to dry my car including the inside areas around the trunk and frunk. Could be I'm not seeing any water because I'm getting it all out before it has time to find its way to the strut towers.

This is what I saw on my 2021 when I removed my struts to lower the car. The passenger side was clean, no sign of corrosion. The driver side had water in the tower (only a little), but the nuts on the strut were already starting to rust.
I have the AOR covers now installed.

Doesn't matter if you have a lift or not. The strut tower is the same, the strut is different though.

That's because I believe GM addressed it somewhat on the 2021 model. 2020 had water collecting in the struts. With 2021, it looks like they closed up some holes that allowed water to pour into them.
