Default "ez screen out"

Has anyone used this item to protect the front radiator/condenser ? Does it cause any cooling issues?

It is ezscreenout.com. I just looked them up as I am interested in doing something when my c8 arrives. However, not fond of the disclaimer they listed.......

Do not use EzScreenOut in extreme conditions when maximum radiator performance is required such as 'tracking' or 'street racing' in hot weather.

Don't necessarily know what they would consider street racing in hot weather.

Ohhh...not for me! Ez didn't come to mind watching him taking the ScreenOut!!

Looks HIGHLY restrictive compared to other solutions on the market which to date have shown no issue with temps ramping up.

Looked up the install! No way would I use that product! It's like breathing through a double cloth mask! No way it can come close to flowing 77% air flow like the Custom Car Grill thin, deep section aluminum mesh many of us used! Even IF acceptable initially (as long as the weather is not hot as we have in the sunny South) it's like a filter and will clog with "stuff!"

Is relatively easy to install!

By their own testing, it caused a 1.9 degree increase in radiator temperature after an 8 second stop (tested at 90 degree ambient temperature). A longer stop (such as at a stop light) would undoubtedly cause an even greater increase. I wouldn't use these.

Yep, that was no doubt when they were clean! Looks like filter material that with the "stuff" we get, bugs, pollen, dust etc will: 1) look bad quickly and 2) like all filters (including the ones in my home AC if I don't change them) restrict flow!

I looked for the best flowing screen material and it was NOT cheap plastic mesh or filter material some others used. It was from a company who specializes in the business, looks like the mesh behind the muffler in the rear, Custom Car Grills with only 23% restriction. It's made from thin aluminum for low restriction with significant depth to supply strength and rigidity without adding restriction.

CAUTION: There have recently been cheap copies coming from China. Custom Car Grills has lowered their price somewhat to be competitive but in any case look at their website and consider buying direct, Although they sell precut screen, I and others bought their 16" X 48" screen and cut our own for about the same price. That's enough to do large screens for 2 C8's or the large, smaller center and two screens for the rear fender scoops if desired.

Mesh easily cut from large 16" X 48" sheet. Enough for 2 C8s or 2 large, 2 smaller screens for the center and 2 for the rear fenders if desired. Templets available on the Forum OR BUY THEIR PRECUT SCREENS.

Hard pass on this stuff. One testimonial said "it raised temperatures a few degrees as advertised" HARD PASS. The open screens stop bugs and debris that are large enough to damage the condensers but and have zero impact on running temps. Just take some of this stuff and wrap it around your head, is it as easy to breath without it? I could protect my condensers by putting a chunk of Tempur-Pedic mattress in between too, but it doesn't make it a good idea.

Yep, I have some cloth Covid Masks granddaughter gave me last year. Have my company name in big Red letters on a Black mask. They also have a pocket over your noise and mouth with an insert for a double mask! I wear it to grocery stores etc as it fits well and is contoured so it doesn't slip or fog my glasses! BUT for wearing for a long time a simple blue mask is much easier to breath through!

I have them. They are great. No issues. I put them on right away and have them for 3100 miles. I bought them for both of my uncles that have c8’s also. They took 2 minutes to put on.

Thank you for your real world answer. I am grateful to hear from someone that has actually used this product.

Everybody else who chimed in - was expressing opinions - without having ANY real knowledge of the product.

It took awhile - but I finally heard from a real user of this radiator protector.

There is no way I would use something that restrictive.

It is not restrictive at all. Look at their website. They had independent testing done.

Installed Ezscreenout from day one of ownership. Haven't noticed temp above 195 degree in 90+ temps.
first time install spent about 15 minutes for both.

I took a look at their website where they show the independent test results. The test was not a real world test on a C8. The test was with a "lab" setup using a 24" x 16" radiator. No way to know what the actual results would be on an actual C8 on the street.

Yep and that was when they were clean. Sitting out in front a fine mesh or filter like material will reduce air flow in time. Yep window screed blocks ~60% of the air flow. The Custom Car Grill mesh that many of us used reduces flow by only 23%.

I watched the R&R videos and it looks like it would be tough not to bend fins or bust knuckles.
