Default Temperatures

I see a lot of discussion about temperatures here. Sunday I returned home from a 600 mile (one way) road trip. I have the Paragon radiator screens installed and I had on a Novistreatch bra.

At about mile 400 here is what I recorded:
Ambient temperature: 91
Transmission ranged between 181 and 183.
Oil temperature ranged between 176 and 178
Radiator ranged between 181 and 185

So I don't think the Paragon radiator screen or the Novistreatch bra adversely affects the temperatures, especially since I had both on.

As a side note, I have Bluetooth remote temperature sensors in the trunk and frunk. The frunk was 92 degrees and the trunk was 110. I will install some insulation later this fall. We will see how much that helps the trunk temperatures.

Temps will only go up when slow in traffic or stopped. I have the ezscreenouts that 95+ of people on this forum don't like and my car runs 174-185 range when cruising. 180 was closer to the average but when stopped temps would rise to say 195 at the highest

Was this on a C8? Your profile doesnt list it.

If so, Z51 or non Z51?

Excellent. So even with screens AND a novistrech bra the car didnt overheat.

Now I assume you werent pushing the RPMs hard during a 600 mile cruise, but that ought to lay to rest some claims that the car needs the extra cooling of the Z51 package. You've made me more confident in my choice to forego it!

I pushed it a little. I kept it in Z Mode so it wouldn't go into 7th or 8th and the AFM doesn't come on in Z Mode. At a few points I was doing 88 in 6th gear but not over the 3500 RPMs.
