Dealer told me that fluid must be changed with filter as there is a newer version. All covered at no cost. Anyone else heard about a new fluid?
If they do it free (although having had mine recently done and no new fluid not change required) find out how they add the 12.6 quarts.
Curious if they will go though the trouble of removing the trunk, then the complete air filter housing, disconnecting some harness clips to access the Tremec fill plug. Or will they simply pump into the "Check Level" and fluid "Top-Up" fluid plug.
So for free, GM is changing out $11,600,000 worth of fluid? After years and years of testing, the fluid in the DCT doesn't work and needs to be replaced? They are going to purchase 145,000 GALLONS of DCT fluid and pay for the labor to change it too. So if it can be changed in an hour, that will add another $6,000,000 to the tab. So for the 50,000 cars on the road GM is going to eat $17 million?
Here’s my work order from AUG 18 from when I had my DCT filter changed and the FFL-4 DCT fluid (19418016) topped off. If your work order lists the same part number for the DCT fluid (19418016), then it’s not new and the tech and/or service writer was confused. Let’s revisit this in three weeks, at which time we’ll know one way or the other.

Hmm, mine took about 8 oz, that is why the dealer got paid for the quart and the time by GM! It's part of the specified procedure. Actually my Tech said he would toss the remainder so added another ~8 OZ (about whathis syringe held) using the tapered rubber end with the hose that blocked the fluid from coming out. Then he quickly put the plug back as some fluid was coming out!
I looked at the semi-clear strip on the side of the plastic container when he finished. It was half empty
