Default C8 Front Lid won't open

I have a 2021 C8 which is now 3 months old. The only minor issue I have is that the front lid (frunk?) does not pop open using the remote. It opens from the button inside the car, and from the button under the front grill. I tried both remotes and neither one will open the front lid. They both open the back lid correctly. Is this some programming issue with the remotes, perhaps? Thank you.

you have to push the button once and then push it a second time and hold the button down. It'll pop open twice (2 clicks). It's a safety feature so it doesn't fly open accidentally while underway, is my understanding.

Thank you! I just tried that and it worked. I had tried pressing the button twice, but was not holding down on the second press.

Don't feel bad. I asked the same question on this forum and got the same information. That's why I love this forum!

I second that. I thought both my key fobs were defective because I couldn't open the trunk with a double press. Then I found a forum thread proclaiming you have press once and then press again and hold. Yep, lots of good info on this forum.

yes indeed. first "double press" operation on any fob I have ever had that required a push-then-push-hold sequence.....

fortunately, when I took NCM delivery, my delivery person told me that right after shaking my hand and handing me the key fobs.

The quick guide and owner's manual properly describe the process too

The person at the dealership who handled my delivery told me to be careful with the key fob because he knew of owners who had them in a place where they would accidentally bump up against something and the frunk would open while they were driving!

The first C8's didn't require the long press, just a double press. It was changed because people were, apparently, opening the frunk accidentally. So GM made it harder to do.

Thanks. That ended my key fob paranoia. I didn't see how the frunk flying open was possible with the longer second push and hold.
