There is a lot of other ways to make money. You're just screwing some other customer out of a spot that may really want the car to enjoy. I wouldn't help with this "dilemma".
For resale--1LT. NPP exhaust. Red calipers. Hypersonic Gray with red interior. Keep in mind that flipping a C-8 might not be that profitable. Many cars are setting at 10K over MSRP.. By the time you pay taxes and registration fees you might have more of a headache than it's worth.

He's not screwing anyone. There isn't a finite amount of Stingrays available to purchase. They're made to order. It's his order. he waited like everyone else. it's his business what he does with the car. Welcome to capitalism 101. The US economy is literally predicated on people paying a markup for goods and services.
Also, name another way to make an instant $20K off of what's typically a liability in a normal world?

I actually agree with that, but as a car guy that just loves cars and want them to enjoy, it just rubs me the wrong way, you are correct though.
If you don't want one, why did you get on a list? If you truly don't want it bow out so the next guy can get his.
Why would he walk away from $20k in profit?
It's tacky as hell to come onto an enthusiast forum where people have been waiting months, some years, and ask advice on flipping for a profit.
But there's absolutely nothing wrong with what he's doing. People sure do hate capitalism some times. Sometimes it sucks, but I'd rather this than some government or other entity dictating how individuals conduct private commerce.
Thanks for your differing opinions and comments. I’m unsure if selling it is wrong as I paid out a down payment a while ago and anyone else could have made the same choice. Probably not making a deposit was not a good thing to do if you wanted a corvette. I was unsure so I paid the deposit. Sometimes within the long waiting period life changes as well as interests. This I’m afraid could happen to anyone.
Buying a corvette is a luxury not a necessity. I do not know anyone who’d give me money if I was unable to buy one because they felt sorry for me. So paying the deposit and the taking your place in line thing are the price of entry.
So if you are angry it should be at yourself and it’s what you should have done. You had an equal chance.
Last I heard in America it’s a capitalist economy ( may have to check). Lives change and the money is looking good but not a necessity. Not looking for a bidding war either just opinions on if I can should I go for it! I respect all opinions and it’s nice to hear from all of you.
