Replacement DCT

I've read about the C8 transmission issues that some owners have experienced, but I'm not sure if that has been discussed. If you did have to have your transmission replaced under warranty, is anything done differently in order to ensure that the same failure does not occur? Does GM extend your warranty if they replace a transmission? Do they provide you a courtesy vehicle if the repair takes a long period of time?
