How many owners
Have done a full-out launch on their car? Personally, I haven't. Convince me it's a good thing to do.

Car is designed to do it so enjoy.

I've done it probably a dozen times.

I just launched the car for the first time today. Had some wheel spin but it was awesome!

How much wear and tear does it put into the car and tires every time it's done? I'd probably consider doing it once in a great while, just for the fun factor.

I wonder what's exactly happening inside the DCT with respect to the clutches, etc.

I'm guessing not too much, you practice doing it multiple times at Spring Mountain, so those cars experience hundreds of launches while they are there.

Did it about 3 times on the C8 at Spring Mountain. Haven't done it on my own car, yet. Not a real good place to do it locally.

How about I convince you to do whatever you want with your car?

I have a few times. It is a great launch, but once you have done it a couple of times--- well..

Another issue I thought about. Due to most of the documented mechanical issues on this forum, it seems the DCT is more prone to issues and failures than any of the other components. Will doing multiple launches eventually contribute to that?

It's a feature the mfg. put into the car. Life is short, just use the car as intended.

YouTube's several excellent videos of C8 launching at drag strips.
C8 vs C8, even a Camaro SS.
Check 'em out if there're any questions.

Do it! It's fun, loud, exciting and I trust the car was engineered to handle it.

I've done plenty. It's a feature of the car. It's what it's designed to do. Playing around with the PTM modes for the best launch has been fun.

You only live once - might as well experience the car for all that it is, even if you only do so on a rare occasion.

Why? (do it or convince you to)
