So, I tried to do a search and couldn't find this topic previously. I have an issue with my right side headlight. Everything works except the low beam headlight itself. Even the high beam works. I had it in to a dealership on Monday (with a 'Corvette Signature Dealer') and they determined the entire headlight assembly had to be replaced. Fortunately it only took four days for them to get the headlight assembly...they weren't sure how long it might be. My question is if they're going to have to take the front bumper cover (front clip?) off or if this can be accessed just by removing the fender well liner. I just got PPF and Ceramic done but I'm still worried that they may damage something or cause it to not line up perfectly anymore.
So, just to close this one out, my headlight has been fixed. For whatever reason the first replacement didn't work right, but the second one seems perfect. The dealership went above and beyond to make this a good experience for me. The owner of the dealership got involved and told his team that my car was to be considered their top priority. They had a team work on it and got it done in about four hours. The team included their body shop leader to ensure the panel gaps were as good as can be. After they were completed, they put my car in their front showroom alongside a couple of pre-owned C7s. I was given the red carpet treatment and got to drive my car off the showroom floor.
This is the kind of experience that can restore a persons faith in the intent and skills of a dealership. I will plan to return to this dealer in the future for any additional needs that may arise.
(*Note: I bought my car remotely from a large volume dealership and had it shipped to me. So, I had to find a local dealership for this work...in case anyone is wondering.)
Technically he misidentified the 10mm hole on the passenger side, but oh well great to have this video though!
So this is required to remove the entire headlight assembly, but I am wondering if you can service some of the bulbs from the backside?
If not, boy fixing headlights is going to be a chore.
So the story continues. The dealership received a replacement unit very quickly…three days. When they installed it, the new headlight now works, but the DRL/turn signal light doesn’t work. So, back to waiting for another replacement.
My concern about removing the bumper proved warranted. They didn’t reinstall it straight with panel gaps and alignments as good as they were. The service manager was very apologetic for both issues (headlight issue and panel issue). He said they’d expedite a replacement as quickly as possible. He also said he’d have his body shop guy participate in the reassembly. I hope they make good on this…I was already uncomfortable about bringing my car to a dealer, this didn’t help me feel any better.
I have a similar but different issue. When I took delivery of my 2022 C8 HTC the Z51 spoiler was damaged. The dealer blamed GM which I think is BS. I think it got damaged during PDI. Anyway, story short, even though they agreed to replace said spoiler by painting a new one and reinstalling it, which requires removing the rear clip, I am going to forgo that approach, eat the labor cost and have a local custom shop do the install work because I can't trust that the dealer can put the car back together correctly. Truth be told, Chevy has built a supercar but doesn't have the consistent technical dealer network to support it. I am sure there are many dealers that have the right techs that can do this work, but they are not all created equal, and you only find that out when it's too late as the OP points out. It makes for many sleepless nights and worries. We're not working on a Tahoe here. GM needs to step it up IMHO.

Simple, ALWAYS take pix of the relevant area at drop-off (with something IDable in the background) and inspect it carefully at pickup.
I don’t make a big production out of it, but whenever I’m dropping off any Corvette the last thing I do is a quick walk around and video wheels, bumpers, splitter, interior, and end on the dash mileage…. All while the service writer is standing by….

Has anyone else had an issue with headlights?
Thanks in advance!
How did it turn out? Did you keep old headlight assy for later parts use?

The dealer replaced the assembly and kept the one that didn't work. Not sure if they'll try to figure out why it failed, but they did say I couldn't take it. All is working correctly now.

GM probably required the dealer to return the defective part since it was a warranty repair. GM will want to know why it failed.
