I took my 2021 for the 7500 mile check up. There were 3 recall issues. The mechanic was finished with the first two recalls and was updating the third recall issue. The vehicle totally shut down electrically while on the rack. The mechanic said this was the second C-8 that he has seen this happen while updating the recall. The vehicle has been stuck ON THE LIFT for a week now, and the service manager stated he had no idea when I could expect my car back. The dealer has to keep it on the rack as without electrical input it is stuck in park. The part has something to do with the passenger airbag sensor....and the part HAS TO BE MADE due to the pandemic. I asked if it could be months and he stated yes. Has anyone else experienced this? Remember the dealer has lost use of the lift so I am sure they want to fix it......but, well, puck this pucking pandemic.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021 Buick Envision, Cadillac CT4, CT5, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Corvette, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL vehicles. The communications gateway module incorrectly processes a loss of communication with the sensing diagnostic module (SDM), causing the air bag malfunction indicator light to inconsistently illuminate.
Remedy
Dealers will update the software in the communications gateway module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 1, 2021. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212338110.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Your car won't be stuck on the lift,, the service dept can easily put it on wheel dollies and move it around the floor. What part is this suppose to be, that GM doesn't have?

My friend has a C8 and he does not receive the OTA updates. He waited until he took it into the shop for the dealership to do them. His bricked like yours and it turned out to be the interface to GM at the dealership. Once they got a correct version or something, his car was fine and he's been driving it ever since. It sounds like you are thinking OTA updates are recalls and they aren't, they're just firmware updates, but they can kill the car (temporarily) if something goes wrong.
I had a similar issue with updates on my 2020. It sat bricked at the dealer for two weeks. They changed the order the firmware updates were pushed to the car and it was fine.

They will get it off of the lift. That lift being tied up will cost them a ton of money. Hope they figure your car out soon.
There is only 1 recall on the 2021 Corvette. The other two items are probably service bulletins). The 1 recall:
Thank you for the quick reply. Further down in this thread is a claim it is a software problem between GM and the dealer.....I hope that is true! I have a 2020 also, vin is in the first two days of production. I have not taken it to a dealer for anything, doing the DCT and oil change at 2000 miles myself. I am actually afraid to take it to the dealer for recall or update issues. The car is a keeper and only has 2500 miles.
