I don't have them installed and generally do not like them on any car except on a lambo. But they actually look good on the C8. If you search there's a couple of posts from folks that have had them done.

They are ugly on a C8 and you still have to open the doors horizontally for a bit before you can lift them. It’s not worth the money.

Then makes even less sense to me why you would want to make your C8 look like a Lambo. But doesn't have to make sense to me, do what you want to your car.

It's pretty wild, but it doesn't have to make sense to you. It doesn't make sense to a lot of people that anyone would buy a C8 at all. Why even post in the thread if you have nothing productive to offer?

OP: I believe a couple of posters that have done the lambo doors have called them "vertical doors" rather than Lamborghini doors. The good from what I have seen is the cost and reliability, around $4500 to have it done and thus far no problems or complaints. The bad, as far as I can tell, is that talking about it invites trolls but that's about it other than potentially making resale a tad harder down the road.

Perhaps myself and other posters here are being very productive, in giving the OP something to think about prior to making his final decision. A club member installed Lambo doors on his '18 C7. He had to have them in spite of much negative input from other members.
Well he regretted it from shoddy install all the up to when he finally sold his C7 for about 20% less than he could have if he had not changed out the doors.

Watched the video. Maybe its just me but it looks like getting in and out would be harder. Like you need to bend around the door as it is not completely out of the way.
Any thoughts???

Thanks to all that responded. I regret using the term “Lambo doors”. I should have used “Vertical doors” because several other cars have this type of door. Koenigsegg, Saleen and McLaren come to mind.
To those that think the doors are “ugly” – To each his own.
To those that say “If you want a car that looks like a Lambo, buy a Lambo”, I never said I want it to look like a Lambo, or a McLaren or any other car. I want a unique car, just like YOU want a unique car.
That’s one of the reasons you bought a C8. Admit it or not, we want the attention. I just want more than you (LOL).
You want to show everyone that you are successful. I get that. Me too.
As far as concerns about resale value, this mod is completely reversible.
Comparing a C8 with a Lambo or Ferrari – If you compare all three it’s pretty obvious the C8 was designed and uses features and components of Lambos and Ferrari. Volkswagen was the first to use dual Clutch transmissions. Does that mean I want my C8 to be a VW? Several Ferrari models have front lift. Most all mid-engine cars have side air vents. So, thanks for your input.
I'm going to have Vertical doors installed. Pweet!

Good video. Usually not a fan of Youtuber video's as many don't show the more difficult to do steps. This does. As was noted the door does still have to open horizontally quite a bit. But if you want the "Look" go for it!

@PopsC8 Has anyone had Verticle doors installed on their C8? The Good, Bad, ugly?
Thanks

At Woody's Annual Car Show held at the Top Water Grill in San Leon in September, I talked to an owner of a C8 with the vertical door kit, specifically on getting in and out of the car. He said it made it easier on both counts. If and when I ever get my Z, I will be installing them.

I have often thought about these doors but I am waiting on someone to make a kit that doesn't require more effort to open the door than stock doors.

You may have a loooooong wait. I had Vertical doors installed on a Plymouth Prowler years ago and they worked fine. The trick is getting them adjusted where they will go up and come down with the least resistance (weight) AND will stay up. Where is Sir Issac Newton when you need him? A motor could be added for another $8,449.98. LOL

If they were electric they would be fine. They are more difficult to operate than stock doors from both the outside and inside. I don't think they are any easer to get in or out.

I would guess the doors work on the same principle as a non-motorized garage door. The doors would have to be balanced accordingly for minimum effort during opening and closing.

We purchased a C6 with a Vertical Doors Inc kit. It can be nice if you park in a tight space. Pulling the door down closed was easy. However, lifting the door open was difficult as it's very awkward trying to lift upward while seated. It's a fairly intrusive process installing them and many cars require trimming of the door panels. The other factor not widely published is it adds almost 150 pounds to the car.
I had them removed and sold the kit to someone in Europe.

Yep, that is what you get with a Koeinigsegg! It's a very complex mechanism but the door is perfectly balanced and easily electrified! It also lowers the window so it doesn't hit the fender. Keeps it very close. Just need the 2 to 3 million to buy!
