I have just the opposite problem. My exit always works to the preset position but my driving preset position is intermittent. I've reprogrammed it several times....sometimes it works, other times it's a couple of inches off.

there is a TSB for this issue that says to reprogram the seat module but it didnt help in my case. dealer has a new seat module
on order now for replacement. mine fails to recall on exit about 20% of the time, and its not positioned anywhere near the
seats travel limits so i know thats not it.

I have the exact same problem, driver side fails to move to the exit position a significant percentage of the time, I hit the exit button manually to make it work. Intermittent problems are hard to diagnose and solve, so I just decided to leave it alone unless a very simple fix is available.

my entry recall fails far less frequently than exit, maybe ~5% of the time, but ive never had it stop short of the programmed position.
they couldnt recreate it at the dealer, but of course as soon as I got home from having it reprogrammed it failed again. based on
what the TSB said (reprogram with same software version) I wasnt expecting it to work anyway. its been over a month now waiting
for a new seat module, and for some reason I doubt that will work either.

YES..if you just want to sit a while and listen to the radio or whatever ..just open door and then close it...You can also just push the exit button

Thanks for posting the service bulletin. These are so helpful when you take your car to a dealer to get a problem repaired.

I haven't tried it yet. We moved into a new house on May 1st and I call it our "Murphy's Law" house. I something can go wrong....... I've been dealing with contractors the last few days.

Hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow to try to set it up.

I don't mind people hijacking any thread I start. I usually learn something. In this case I learned a long time ago that it's a lot easier on me just to put a garage door opener on the sun visor and not try to get those buttons to work in any vehicle!

I would suggest you don't put the seat all the way back to the stop point. I had problems with mine going forward until I stopped the rear movement about 1" from the rear stop. No problems since then.

Here is how I did it:

Place Seat/Steering/Mirrors/etc in the position I want to drive in
Then: press Set (hear one beep), then long press 1,2 (hear two beeps)

Then:

Place Seat/Steering/Mirrors/etc in the position I want to ENTER AND EXIT vehicle in
Then: press Set (hear one beep), then long press exit (hear two beeps)

So now: when I enter the seat is highest so I don't plop down and the steering wheel is all the front so my belly doesn't scrape on it. Then when I turn the car on: it goes into my driving position. When I turn off the car everything moves back to the entry/exit position (ie seat all the way up, steering all the way forward)

hope this helps.

FWIW, that was an issue with my two C7s as you were hitting the "emergency stop switch" and they would NOT move forward. But for the C8 it appears when you try to set fully back it moves forward ~1/2 inch by itself before it's remembered.

Also the C7 seat back had a latch to move it forward. So if set close to the rear as wear occurred on the seat back tilt it could hit the stop and had to reset slighlty forward. No such adjustment on the C8, it's all done by motors that have zero slop!

Watch the video and see if you get it to work. They skip necessary steps just like the owners manual. Not sure who writes the manuals or does the videos but they need to be re-done.
