From what I have read the Paragons are high quality. I believe they are 20mm and bring the OEM wheels flush with the fenders.

I had the Paragon 20mm installed last Thursday. Looks so much better now. Was considering lowering but the better stance removed that idea from my head. Rather than shaving the studs we just use a angle grinder and cut off the tips of the studs. Much faster than trying to grind and test each stud for fitment.

Yep. I just took a Dremel tool to the top of each stud and took some material off...I'm too old to keep lifting the wheel/tire on and off...

To the OP. I also have the 20mm Paragon spacers. TOP quality items!

Perfect much what I am thinking too! Lowering........... don't really want to do BUT spacers probably worth while looks wise. Assuming its evident how much of the "nipple" (ouch!) to grind off. Did you take any before/after pics you can share??

Thanks

What wheels do you guys have? I have the Spectra Gray Tridents and I heard you don't need to alter the studs from one member with those but I'd like to get a bigger sample size to feel confident.

I have the Tridents also (black). I’m looking at installing the Paragons this Winter and from previous posts it seems that 100% of the 5-spokes rims need the posts ground down and only a small percentage of the Tridents do.

This might help.

Thanks I will have the stock 5 spoke aluminum wheels. I guess you have to take equal amounts off each OEM stud the nipple part. Thansk for video knew one was out there but had not watched it thanks.

I did see this already BUT they of course do not show the step OR reason why to grind off ends of OEM studs. What is reason and do they require equal grinding down I assume? Thanks David Some wheels yes others no need!

I have the base split spoke silver wheels. They definitely need some material taken off the studs.

I have the base 5 spoke wheels. We just cut off the rounded part of the stud about 1/4". No issues after doing that. I don't think the wheel type from GM will matter. They all will need some modifications to the studs. Again, cutting the rounded part off was much easier than it was to grind a stud and check for fitment. That would take forever for 5 studs per wheel. Just cut them off.

Per Paragon:

* Base 5 spoke wheels need a tiny factory stud modification. You will need to remove a few millimeters of the OEM stud due to the smaller pockets on the OEM wheels.

Because the factory posts hit the back of the rims preventing the rims from properly tightening down on the new posts.

It takes a lot of time to do it this way and again the main thing I have stressed in this thread is if you want to remove and replace the wheel 20 - 60 or more times to make sure you shaved enough off each stud you are better off cutting the stud. The rounded part is not necessary and is just there to make it easy to put the lug nut on before you start to thread it. Pargaon puts a video on their site to make it look easy. In real life the way they do it is not easy and it time consuming.

I have also heard from several members on another thread that with the spectra gray trident wheels they had to grind little to nothing off the studs. That's my hope now as I already have the spacers, just waiting for the car.
