Default Window Tint Issue

I had my windows tinted last Monday and not sure I am satisfied with the finished product. I am not one to complain and ask people to re-do work so i am asking for your opinion if you had your HTC side windows tinted. The first picture is with the door open and you can see the 1/8" gap going up the tint. This is the part that hits on the rear seal. The second picture is with the door open and looking out the window from the driver seat. Again at the rear of window toward the trunk.

That does not even look like it was cut straight. I would give them once chance to fix it. If they cannot, get a refund and the cost to remove it and take it to another shop.

I would send them a picture and ask if they saw it when they did it. Follow it up with - When can you get me in to fix this?

Thanks all. I agree. I'll either give him a chance to remove and replace or just remove and give me a refund and I'll go someplace else. Is it hard to remove tint safely? Been on the car for 1 week 2 days but likely can't get to the shop till next week. tks

Yes, I would ask for that window to be redone. You paid for a quality job and that does not look like a good job to me.

I wish it was just one window. It is both passenger and driver window and the rear HTC window has spotting that will not come clean so basically a whole new install. Guy has done a C8 HTC before and been in business years but first time I used him. I am more tempted to ask for a refund and removal and just go somewhere else but I will give him both options.

Did you check it over before paying and driving away? What did they say about it?

I don't believe in aftermarket tinting but I must say I've seen a lot of windows tinted this way and was told they don't go out to the edges to prevent peeling and scratching from the window sashes when the window goes up and down. As others have said, if you don't think its right, have them do it over or tell you why they did it that way.

Yours doesn't look cut straight or installed correctly. I had mine done over a year ago on my HTC and believe they had a template to have their machine cut it for the C8. Full warranty for those or other defects. No issues in the last year. Definitely find another installer.

Thanks for posting. Looks like in your first picture you still have a very small edge line where the tint does not go fully to the end of the window. It does appear to be a smaller gap and straighter than mine though.

That's exactly what I was referring to.
