Got the bad news today! Took my 2021 C8 in for the 7,500 mile service to be told the DCT is leaking and will need to be replaced.
Seriously, I thought the DCT issues were resolved by now.
Late June 2021 build VIN XXXXXXXXXXXXX8006
Guess I should have gone with the BMW.

Luckily you can get out of it very, very easy. Enjoy the BMW.
After a long wait, I may finally get to order my C8 in January. My hope was that after several years, GM would have the DCT issues knocked out by now. Even if it doesn't go bad within the first few thousand miles, the concern is it will go bad right after the drive train warranty expires. I think I read an out of warranty DCT replacement is about $22K. Not something anyone of us here wants to experience.
I'm probably going to go ahead and order mine anyways, and IF I require a DCT replacement under warranty, hopefully by then the replacement DCT will have been de-bugged and engineered to be reliable.

Can’t you just continue to drive it until they get the new transmission in? If you’ve been ok for the first 7,500 miles I don’t see why not. Then your down time shouldn’t be long at all.

Not hardly, transmission fluid is extremely flammable. Would you drive with a known gasoline leak?

Transmission fluid is not any more flammable than engine oil, certainly not like gasoline. If it were there would be a lot more Car-B-Qs from old cars running around. If you didn't see any leakage making it to your garage floor it probably isn't a big leak.

I am really sorry, and a bit distressed, to hear you have this awful problem plaguing these cars at least through 2021. It is no fun and I feel badly you have to deal with it.
That said, your last sentence about the BMW seems gratuitous and TSIwing's retort quite appropriate in response...

My 21 was built in March with VIN#xx8269. Yours was built before mine and I had to replace it at 2400 miles in June. It has been fine so far and is by far the best Vette I have ever owned. Good luck with car.

Maybe you can top off the DCTF via the air breather tube periodically. Problem is, how fast is this leak?
Also, the DCTF is pretty expensive. If you think the 0W-40 ESP Mobile 1 oil is high priced, check the prices on the Pentosin FFL-4, haha!
So you never saw any oil on the garage floor? No oil on the aluminum plate? No CEL or codes? No trouble with the driveability?
I would seriously want to SEE that leak before I ditched that car to the dealer. Put a clean catch bucket underneath, open the drain, lets see how much fluid is in there. Replace the fluid back into the DCT, top it off, put some tracing powder around the porosity issue area and drive it for a day or two.
Then drain it back out again and compare the level, did the tracing powder show a leak down the side? It could still be a pan gasket issue maybe?
My C8 was in shop 3 days I picked it up for DCT problems.
