I scratched my black side vent on my C8. I am sick right now. Opinions on what to do. The part is unavailable through Chevy right now and they said it would be 3k for the set.
I don't know where you got those prices from, but the lower portion MSRP is $450.66. You can get them in real Carbon Fiber for much less than the price you were given.
I called my local Chevy dealer that’s we he quoted me. I see some venders like corvette mods selling them for $400. But it’s carbon fiber I wanted carbon flash to match everything
Funny… I was just looking these up today because I was thinking of gettIng a second set of body accents in torch red. I was able to find the lowers (84950091, 84950090) for $290 each. I couldn’t find the door pieces. I assume they are “paint to match”.
You aren't to bad off, as stated above. Those two pieces arent to bad to take off and any decent body shop will get you fixed up. I'd also check ebay plenty of people taking off stocks to change them. Not ideal, but not so bad in the grand scheme of life. Sorry guy.
Great time to apply a Corvette balm to your ow-ee. If the form of spending money on the car. Time to take Zymurgy's suggestion and make yourself feel peachy with real carbon fiber boomerangs all around.

Joe…that’s tough. I feel for you. I am not an auto body person and without touching….I am wondering if it can be buffed out. Maybe Maguires black? How deep are the scratches? I have buffed out minor scratches.

A spray can of Carbon Flash Metallic $20, automotive clear $20, some sand paper & nobody will ever notice.
Call your local dealer ask for the used car manager, ask him if he uses a mobile paint touch up service (most do) and ask him to let you know when he is due on there lot. These mobile air brush services will blow you away with what they can do on the cheap.
