GM should have called it root beer. More catching than caffeine IMO.

 

Yea it definitely looks better than those photos portray. I've attached the video I took of it at last year's corvette homecoming and think it gives a pretty accurate representation of what it looks like out in the sun.

 

Order the car, and by the time it comes up for the order to be submitted to GM (give it a year), you will have seen it in person and can make your final decision then.

Had mine for a month now. It may not be for everyone but I like it and have gotten only complements on it. I have yet to see a picture that accurately resembles the color. Sunlight makes it "pop" with multiple hues due to the metalflake. and shadows make it look black.

Go to a local paint shop ask them to do a spray out for you, might help but would be a small sample size

 

I was very fortunate. I wanted the Caffeine but had not sen it. My allocation came in on a Tuesday in November and believe it or not my dealer received one on Thursday. I was going to get Orange or Caffeine. I went to see the ca that came into the dealer and made the final decision to get the Caffeine. So far it will be available in 2023 as it is listed as a color for the Z06. I hope you like it as much as I do and don't let the snide comments bother you. I almost ordered the Lime Rock Green for my C7 but got the Cyber Gray.

Lime Rock was a beautiful AND unique one year color. While Caffeine will likely be a one year color too, it is far from beautiful. You can call it Metallic “Caffeine” all day long but that is just marketing…it’s still brown. If you are dead set on it, go for it but clearly you aren’t in love with it because you can’t pull the trigger. When you finally do I promise you this: When you get it, whenever you show your C8 to ANYONE they will be thinking, “Out of all the colors in the rainbow, WHY did he chose brown?” Sure they’ll nod their head and smile, and agree when you point out how rare of a color it is, but inside they are cringing.

I ordered Red Mist because I instantly loved the color when I saw photos of it and later in person when I met up with a forum member. I guess we can agree on one thing, because I don’t buy cars or colors based on what anyone else thinks or does or does not own. But I assure you it DOES NOT BLEND IN and anyone who has seen it is blown away. It really is gorgeous. Some colors like Rapid Blue, Accelerate Yellow and Amplify Orange might stand out more, but Red Mist does not blend in. Even though I live in the Chicago area, I’ve maybe seen a dozen C8’s in the wild and I’ve never seen another Red Mist on the road…I do see ugly brown cars and UPS trucks regularly though.

You’re off to a bangin’ start on the forum Mr 15 posts. In my original post I was sincerely trying to help you make an informed decision by sharing what I saw and that the video was true to color. Smashing job in your reply.

Now you’re just repeating yourself…time to get some new material. You possess an odd combination of being thin skinned AND passive aggressive…or maybe that’s about right?

This whole conversation is moot if you only just placed your order with a small dealer in Alabama who gets 4 allocations a month. Caffeine Brown will be a one and done color for the 2022 MY based on a record setting low take rate. The last 2022 orders must be submitted by March before switch over to two new colors for the 70th Anniversary MY so that ship has very likely sailed.

Everything I say is worth repeating. As I stated in my original post, I am aware of opinions about the color but I like it. I am not interested in what you like or dislike, the potential resale value of the car or if it is gonna be available when my order is accepted at the plant. I am just looking for one close to Huntsville to look at. So with your obviously superior intellect please try to NOT continue throwing your 2 cents in. I do not need or want your help. Thank you

People scoffed and laughed at Zeus bronze for the entirety of its production. I think baby puke was one of the more common descriptions of it. Now that it's gone we get all misty eyed and nostalgic for it. Okay. Maybe not all but certainly it's more popular than it was when it was 1/12 of the C8 color choices. I admit to being intrigued by it when it was in production but doubt I would have had the guts to pull the trigger! By the time my allocation came up it was a moot point as it was long gone...

Serious question: will caffeine also be more appreciated after it is gone? Will the turd/ UPS jokes disappear?

 

I know that the Lime Rock Green from the 14 C7 was also a one year color but that was the color of my C7 and I LOVED it. If they were offering Line Rock now my decision would be easy. As far as the Caffeine only time will tell. But at the end of the day I really like it and feel that I won't change my mind even after finally getting to actually a car in it. I am leaning forward with ordering it and hope my order goes in before they start the 2023 build as I am concerned that they may not offer Caffeine in 2023. Again time will tell.

 

I have never seen so much copium for an unpopular color choice. Dog bless.
