Default 2023 order workbench

Considering GM wants to start producing 2023 models in May this year, has anyone heard anything about the workbench date for orders?

Based on what I can gather from the past, this happens about 4 to 5 months prior to production. If true, it would seem that should occur later this month or early February.

In order for the dealers to start the order process, we would need to have pricing and options. It would seem, that if they are still looking at production some time in May, we should be getting information very soon. Is that just wishful thinking?

I don't think it's wishful thinking, but with the screwed up world right now, and prices changing by the day, I will almost guarantee GM will wait until the very last minute to announce pricing. I would if I were in their shoes.

I thought allocations were in that time frame and that workbench was 2 months prior to that. Basically that occurred for my first C8. Early Dec for workbench for my car then Allocation 2 months after that and then 2 more months est Production, which of course didn't happen in 2020.

They need to announce all the price increases which should suck, but everything else has gone up. Once they announce that will be about when orders start going in with dealers.

Per my Dealer this was an email sent to me on 12/15/2021

Just announced!

Ordering for the 2023 Model Year Corvette has been announced with a tentative opening date of March 24th.

As more information comes available, I'll stay in touch. Still no update regarding any insight to production levels.

My guess is that they will release it for both the Stingray and Z06, so we have to wait for the Z06 pricing announcement before it is updated.

That's very interesting and makes sense..As that is a Thursday, the way I read that is they will have known their first allocations before that day and that will be when GM will start accepting orders for a last week of May starting production moved back two weeks because of the tornado.
  • But it also means that workbench orders would need to open up at least two months earlier which would be this month.
  • As a result we should be getting pricing for both stingrays and Z06 this month and know much more about options and maybe even constraints very soon.
  • Am I on the right track?
