L2M, since I’ve offered you only accolades for your car (especially those wheels ), I feel okay saying this license plate surround was your first misstep. Not a fan…sorry! Detracts attention from your car’s inherent beauty IMO.
We have PROLIFIC speed camera presence in the communist city of New York. People used to "scratch off paint" on their plates to make them less reflective- Ims ure thats a fix it ticket and a PIA trip to DMV if you're cited. Now I see many plates that just look "dirty" I suspect some anti reflective spray is being used. In deference to doing this I just use waze and spot them in advance

@Bird67 Just to show I respect your opinion (and others have chimed in as well). I just ordered this (21-year Marine Vet). Better?

I kind of like this one. However, I went with a silicone license plate frame on my C7 and it too works very well - no scratches from the plate on the paint, no rattles, and looks good.
Possible PROBLEM though: Special note: Body color will show through grill. If a black background is desired, a black wrap or painted surface behind the grill is required.
Is this curved or flat? Does it have a gap on the sides where you can tell it does not sit flush against the body? tks
The part is curved and there are no gaps. Curved to follow the contour of the rear bumper cover. Here's a close-up. It's a nicely fabricated part CNC'd from billet aluminum. It goes well with the factory vents and gives the rear of the C8 an exotic look....IMO.

Not bad for $195
No link....Google is your friend.

Why is it a "Problem" ? With a little bit of creativity an inexpensive black background can be made using some 1/6" black ABS. I used 3m VHB to stick it to the back. If one wants something better than what's offered, take matters into your own hands to make improvements that matter to YOU. If that's not in your wheel house, pass on it and find something else that suites your fancy. Quite simple really!
