Default Large Wheel Problems?

I have some Aerolarri wheels picked out but I need some help with selecting a size. I'm thinking of going up to a 20/9.5 with 255/30/20 tires & 21/12 on 325/25/21 tires.

The company states that there's no rubbing but I was wondering what everyone's experience here is? Has anyone tracked their C8 with larger wheels/tires and if so, how did they perform (grip, push in the corners, rubbing, harshness, etc.)?

I'm looking for the best compromise of looks, drivability, & occasional track day setup. With that said, I wouldn't mind a little more traction and less push in the tight corners.

Thanks in advanced!

It seems to me that most if not all of the aftermarket wheels use an offset that brings the wheel flush (or close to) to the fender, so I don’t really see the benefit of the extra width for normal street driving. Is there a known or perceived traction problem with stock size tires? Wider tires can also affect the way the car tracks on the roads depending on their condition (but I don’t see guys saying it’s a problem) as well as the price difference of the larger/wider tires to consider.

When I was considering the Aerolarri’s I had decided to go with with the 19 x 9 & 20 x 11.5.

In the end I opted for a different wheel in stock size which came with a flush offset, direct swap of the tires. Used the money I saved from the larger/wider wheels and bought a set of A/S PS4s for the stock wheels.

Just food for thought…

I have Aerolarri’s in 20x9.5/21x12. I originally went with 255/30/20 and 325/25/21. I felt that the fronts were too stretched out, the tires weren’t quite wide enough, so I switched them to 265/30/20. The rears are fine. I had a tiny amount of rubbing on the front optional splash guards but it was very minimal and Aerolarri has since changed the offset 1mm to stop that on new sets of wheels. If the car is lowered, the old offset will not rub either. If I were to do it all over again, I would go with 20x9 with 265/30/20 and 21x12 with 325/25/21.

I love the Low Profile Spoiler! Not too much, Not too little. Yea I am going to get Aerolarri Crosswinds and was wondering what are the Negatives to going a size up. 20 Front and 21 Back.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of doing the same. No issues with fitment or road manners with the extra .5 stretch?

Thanks for the info. I was originally only going to 20/9s in the front too. I do take it to the track on occasion so if there's even a chance of it rubbing I'll error to the size of caution. I want performance & drive ability before looks. If I do go to 9s, you still recommend 266s vs 255s?

Do you notice more road noise or harsher ride with the lower profile?

Nice ride by the way!

if you’re planning on tracking the car, I’d swap back to the stock sizes or at least some 19/20 or 18/19. For the street, 20/21 has been great for me. Road noise is about the same and ride is very close. Feels a little more planted, but that’s probably a mental thing.

I’m really happy with the low profile spoiler. I had a 21 htc, ordered it without z51 mainly because I didn’t want a spoiler. When the low spoiler became available on the 22, I decided to try it. I don’t think there are many negatives to going 20/21 except for being a little more careful driving, avoiding potholes, etc. also there aren’t any run flats in the correct sizes, but I’ve never really like runflats anyways.

Ok Thanks… No run flats. I will stick to stock sizes 19&20 so I can transfer my factory Run Flat tires. I plan on traveling a lot. I had a bad experience with my BMW that also does not have a spare tire while riding on aftermarket wheels and I said I will always use Run Flats to avoid being stranded with a flat.

Yeah I went with stock sized wheels so I only needed one set of wheels. Thanks! Now for the long wait.

With the savings, I'll probably order new rotors.
