Before I just try to remove some of the interior trim I was wondering if anyone has done this and are there any things to watch out for. The trim pieces I am asking about are the 3 dash aluminum color pieces adjacent to the steering wheel and the one over the glove box. Also the inserts in the door card that surround the switches . Just asking.

I'm interested too. I have Carbon fiber to install. Some goes on top and some requires removal
Diagrams of the parts can be viewed at https://www.gmpartscenter.net/v-2020...gas/auto-parts but it won't show you how to remove them. I'm planning to have my PPF/tint guy cover the shiny silver parts with something immediately after I drive my C8 home from BG in a few months - assuming the glare from the silver dash trim bothers me on the way home as much as it does another C8 owner I spoke with last year.
Unfortunately, this car is so new there are almost no U-tube vids on anything...
having done interior work on both my C7, and my Porsche, I'd advise you to be very careful, as its almost impossible to figure out how this stuff goes together,,, cars were designed to be assembled, not disassembled, and if you don't know the exact sequence, and how the fasteners work and where they are located, you can break something, and have to buy new parts... which may not be available...
If you are adventurous, you can give it a shot... I'd definitely invest a few $$ in some upholstery picks, and give it a go... but don;t do anything you are not 100% sure of, and if you get stumped, just punt and put it back together... unfortunately some clip fasteners require a certain amount of force to remove, but if you don't do it right, you can break them... and then SOL...
No help, but good advice non-the-less... frankly, you may be better just sucking it up, and paying the dealer to do it... at least any mistakes will be on their dime...
