Default C8 Error Code P2855

Hey everyone,
I started up my 2021 C8 today and saw the engine warning light. I called On Star and they said it was error code TCM Transmission System P2855. My car only has 1,986 miles on it! It was running funny (felt like loss of power at times) and another warning light came on saying something about no engine creep available? Disappointed and frustrated to say the least! I will hopefully be able to get it into the dealer this week but of course they are slammed.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so what was the fix? My dealer said it may need a new transmission?? HELP

In early October '21 I had a similar Idle Creep Message, CEL [check engine light] and codes P0776 & P2854 at under 400 miles. Later that day the CEL went off and the codes cleared. With almost 3,500 miles driven since, the problem has not returned. After seeing a few posts on the Forum about this issue, I decided to wait until the 7,500 transmission filter change and make sure that the dealer performs the transmission service cleaning procedure. Apparently microscopic debris can hinder one of the internal solenoids, triggering the CEL. My problem seems to have cured itself.

Interesting. I also had the engine light come on about a week ago but then also cleared itself. This time it appears it is here to stay

Having the CEL reappear is not a good sign and indicates that service is needed. Hopefully the simple "triple flush" cleaning procedure will solve the problem.

I too had the “Idle Creep Message, CEL [check engine light]” come on a few times. It seemed to correct itself for awhile, but happened again, twice. So I took it in to the dealer, and they cleared the codes. But after doing it again, took it in and set up a service appointment. Tech is skipping the flush, and going straight to a valve body replacement. Sounds good, but I’ve been waiting a month now for the part. Not too bad though, being winter in Wisconsin.

From the service manual:

P2855
B12BA Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor 1 = Greater than a predefined threshold
Actions Taken When the DTC Sets
DTCs listed in the DTC Descriptor Category = Type A> DTC
Transmission Creep Mode = Disabled
Clutch 1> / Odd Clutch = Disabled

My check engine light came on. It was the engine/transmission solenoid. It couldn’t regulate the pressure between the engine and transmission because the transmission filter was clogged with microscopic debris. The dealership did a complete flush of the system as per GM’s fix. I was told that GM has instructed all dealerships to do a complete flush when a C8 comes in for its 7500 mile oil change.
