Default Tinted Windshields???

Hey guys, my car is currently in the shop getting the works - wrapped, ceramic coated, sides of the glass top wrapped in Torch Red, 35% tint on side windows, wheels/barrels/calipers ceramic coated, carbon flash side accents wrapped and installed (not in pic), etc... The one thing I've gone back and forth on was the windshield and whether or not to tint it with 70% tint. I've seen some in pics and it looks good but the the biggest thing holding me back was inspection stickers. In PA we have to get our cars inspected every year which includes scraping the old stickers off but when I brought it up to the owner of the shop, he assured me that he could get them off without damaging the tint and showed me a few examples of his cars and which had been stickered 4 times without any damage to the tint. So with that said, what are your opinions on a tinted windshield. He also mentioned that it would significantly cut down on the heat coming thru the windshield. Not that I keep the car outside but I'm sure every little bit helps on the leather dash. I just got the car and bought it out of state (Ciocca in NJ) so I haven't had it inspected/stickered yet so now is the time to decide. I'm leaning towards having it done but looking for advise if anyone has had theirs tinted or you've drivin in one.

I would do 50% on the windshield. I have had it on many cars and it was never an issue. I plan on going darker on my Z06. As far as inspection, buy these. 4 Pieces of Windshield Stickers,Windshield Applicator,Easy to Remove and Reapply, 4inches6inches
Amazon Amazon
I have used them and they work perfectly.

I had the same question, my C8 is a daily driver. I took a few months before deciding thou (Sept - Nov). I live in Savannah GA, and I noticed before tinting the windows that both, the windshield and side windows, came from factory with some amount of heat shield protection already in the glass, it might not be 70% or close to it but it was enough that I decided against it. So far I have no regrets, plus I can always have it done later if I change my mind next July/August LOL ...if I ever decide to do it, I would have to be 80% or 90% because I like this view too much:

Thanks for the info... just curious, do you have the dealership do the inspections and if so, are they willing to apply the inspection stickers to the film or do you have to "know someone" willing to do that? I do have a pretty good relationship at a few repair shops but they have drawn a line on a few exhaust "requests" I had on my old 1990 Formula. Looks like this would be perfect if I could find someone to do it.

I have windshield heat rejection "tint" on my Tesla. I doesn't seem to help much in Texas with heat during the summer. It is noticeable when you're looking for it. It's not darkened at all, but it creates weird little wavy "pixels" for lack of a better term that you can see if you focus on them. I don't dislike it, it just doesn't seem to work well enough to be worth what it cost. A reflective sunshade worked better for me.

The installer put in a little square of something like TRANS DAMM posted, and my inspection sticker hasn't been a problem. Except for when I tugged at the corner of the little square instead of the corner of the inspection sticker...

I got the inspection done on my c7 and let them just put the tint over the sticker.. after it set in place for a week or so I came back and they cut out the tint around the sticker. U can do that or maybe they can pre cut the tint where your sticker would go beforehand

I’ve always done 50%. You can see someone’s silhouette but can’t make out who they or you are.

I did Llumar Air80 ceramic film on my windshield. I used Air90 on my C7. Good hear rejection but still clear & legal. I had the shop do a cutout for my tolltag and TX registration sticker.

If it is legal in your state to tint the windshield, I would go for it. Keeping heat down on the dash would certainly be worth it.
