You are exactly right. When I sold my C6 last year I had a guy call me from Alabama - he was about two hours from me - and ask me if I would take a cashier's check. I asked him from which bank. He gave me a bank name and I quickly looked it up. It was a small town bank not even near where this guy was calling from. He insisted I take it and told me he would come that day to pick up the car with the check. I told him to have his bank call me and I would give them wiring instructions. He told me if I wouldn't take the check then no deal. I told him I wouldn't take the check and he hung up on me. These checks are easily forged and the only way I will take one is if I meet the buyer at the bank and watch the banker cut the check.
