Has anyone replaced the exhaust tips on there C8 without getting an aftermarket new system?
I’m ok the NPP Z51 exhaust system on my 2021, I just don’t like the square tips. Interested in just replacing the tips, any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ben

Any idea how they're attached? The stock tips are welded, and will need to be cut off. Do these need to be welded onto what's left of the stock pipes? Their 10 second video doesn't show that part.

from the site - “Ask your muffler shop to cut off the old and weld on these new ones“

Yes, the original tips will have to be cut off and the new ones welded on.
Made a composite pic. The tips look similar to what Borla offers on their ~$5000 C8 exhaust system. It's a ~$500 premium over straight metal tips.
Tenneco welds the assembly in fixtures (with MIG welding robots, some of their locations are my customers) that assure alignment. Must have a quality shop carefully align as small deviations would be visible.
When they weld on the new tips, it looks like the system is on the car. Has anyone experienced other major problems as a result of the welding process on the car? I would think that the grounding process on arc welding would do significant damage to who knows how many of the computers in the car

@JerryU may be able to answer this better than I can but I wouldn’t think that would be an issue for a good shop

Yep, it's done all the time. Best to remove the battery ground but bet most shops won't. I would and place the ground cable close to where the welding will be done. I would NOT use a TIG welder with HF. Most muffler and body shops don't they use MIG where there is no high frequency involved.
I do like the look of the Aerolarri tips, but not sure I would pay $400 for a set.
Pretty much feel the same way. I like the look but not sure for me at least, the juice is worth the squeeze. If there was a fairly simple install, I may have bitten as they look good but by the time you pay a shop to install, they become fairly expensive tips.
