So I bought wheels for my C8 @WHEEL DESIGNERS (Stance) in December
Had a mobile wheel installer balance/mount them
They've come out three times now to balance and we cannot seem to get a proper balance I feel a vibration SOMETIMES on the car and it is subtle
- goes away if I stiffen the suspension, and yesterday it went away after I filled up gas
I now am scheduled for next week for a "road force" balancing. I used to daily drive and now have barely put on 300 miles since December because of this new issue.
Is there a chance they could be out of round from the factory?
In the "old days" we would deflate the tire and turn 180-degrees on the wheel and try again. Often worked. Have the "balanced" okay as has been done to date? Yes, get it to a real tire shop, ASAP.
You reusing your original tires? A faulty wheel is possible but not likely, but I don't know what type of manufactured wheel you got. All the best!
A "trick" a good tire and wheel man will use is to spin, then mark where a weight is indicated, let the air out of the tire, then spin the tire so that that point is where the valve stem is, then spin again.
Many times there this will eliminate the need for weight at that point. .. Another thing is that where the sticky weight is applied not just in the proper place in the diameter, "east-west" so to speak on the rim.
I've had wheels/tires mounted in the field several times.
For my backhoe!
Would never trust that for any car.
Get it to a real shop.
Could be the wheel.
Good luck.
